The storyline of Roja follows an optimistic girl who was raised in an orphanage. She meets her biological father, Tiger Manickam, but they are unaware of each other's identities. Roja was raised in the orphanage of Shanthamoorthy and has a sweet, kind disposition. Arjun, humble despite his wealth, is a leading criminal lawyer. Roja is looking for a lawyer to argue in a case related to Shanthamoorthy, who was falsely accused and arrested for Bhaiya Ganesh's ******, which was actually done by Sakshi with Priya by her side. The odds Roja faces to overcome the odds and get together with her family form the crux of the story.

Later due to outbreak of COVID-19 and to pursue the opportunity of entering Bigg Boss, Shivani left the series. So, on August 2020, she was replaced by actress Chandini Tamilarasan.The production team finalised Kannada TV actor Karan Sagar for the role.
