Default Festive time on Yeh Rishta…

The show will celebrate Gangaur festival which has been shot in Udaipur and Rajasthan…

The new Rajan Shahi’s show Yeh Rishta Kya Khelata Hai is in a celebration mood. In the up coming episodes the show will celebrate Gangaur festival which follows a beautiful sequence. This is one of the biggest festivals celebrated in Rajasthan.

“The sequence has come out well and it will be a visual treat for the audience,” says Rajan Shahi.

The shooting for the same has taken place in Udaipur and Rajasthan. “There were few localities who were watching the shoot. After the sequence was completed they complimented the whole unit and said that this is the way we celebrate our fest,” he adds further.

Gangaur Festival is devoted to Goddess Parvati, the consort of Lord Shiva. It is time for young girls to dress up in their finery and pray for grooms of their choice while the married women pray for the well-being of their husbands. This 18-day festival is laced with various activities and culminates in a grand procession marking the arrival of Shiva to escort his bride home. It is celebrated in the month of March-April.

Creative director and writer, Rajita Sharma, states, “It’s one of the important festivals in the state where the idols of Isarji and Gungaurji (Shiv-Parvita) are made by these young girls. They do the puja for few days and at the end there is a huge procession that follows.”

“The procession end at Pichola Lake where they bathe the idols in a holy water and bring them back. The unmarried girl’s dreams to get a husband like Isarji whereas the married woman’s pray for their hubby’s long life,” she adds further.

In the show the stories follow the lead girl Akshara’s emotional journey. “While making an idol she dreams of a man of her life. She tries to see the face of his in the idol though. We have shot in beautiful Ghats with elephants and camels in the procession. It was all together an overwhelming,” she concludes.

This special episode will start from coming Monday. So viewers get ready to celebrate the fest with Yeh Rishta…
