New Delhi: Amid controversy over the NEET-UG examination, the government is considering the possibility of holding the test online from next year, the Indian Express reported. The exam is currently held in pen-and-paper mode where candidates mark their answers on an Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheet. The report said an online test was discussed in at least three high-level meetings called over the last week.

Three Different Kinds Of Problems With NEET Exams: Education Ministry
Earlier, the government had said that there are three different kinds of problems with NEET exams as the Education Ministry admitted there are “several issues” in conduct of NEET-UG exam, adding, “These (issues) shouldn’t be mixed. These are three different kinds of issues.” The grace marks issue has been “completely addressed” and the alleged paper leak issue in Bihar is being investigated by state agencies, Joint Secretary Govind Jaiswal said adding that there’s also an issue of malpractice in Gujarat.
