• Filming, The filming of the series was halted in 19 March 2020 with 99th episode aired on 31 March 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic. Later the filming again began in late June with new episodes aired from 20 July 2020. The shooting of the series was slowed down when Shweta Tiwari contracted Covid-19 and Varun Badola quarantined himself. The show wrapped up in early November with airing its last episode on 19 November 2020 and getting replaced by Story 9 Months Ki.
• Reception, The Quint reviewed, "Varun Badola embraces the prickliness of being a middle-aged widower and makes the audience empathise with him – even if it’s accompanied by a dose of annoyance. Thanks to Swetha Tiwari’s natural performance and the empathetic way in which her character is handled, we root for Guneet to find love again." Shweta Tiwari is a popular Indian Television actress. She was born in Pratapgarh (Uttar pradesh), India. The daughter of Nirmala & Ashok Tiwari, Shweta was brought up in Mumbai. She got her early education from the all girls' school ''St.Isabel'' in Mumbai. At the age of 12, Shweta worked in a travel agency with a salary of Rs. 500/- per month. She did her graduation in commerce from Burhanis College in Mazegaon. She has a younger brother by name vaibhav. Shweta married Raja Choudhary, a co-star of shweta in a bhojpuri movie. They have a daughter named Palak together and now are separated.



Varun Badola the very first Dev of Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand, Abhimanyu in Astitva-Ek Prem Kahani. Kushan of Rabba Ishq Na Hove. Varun Badola is from Uttrakhand. Other than this he has also worked in Haasil and Charas with an appreciable role. His hometown Kotdwar Garhwal a very simple man by character is famous in the glamour world. A source close to the show revealed, 'The makers of Mere Dad ki Dulhan are keen on casting him for the show. Karanvir’s character in the show will be dynamic and larger than life and will play the love interest of Niya (Anjali Taratari). Apart from Blank, Karanvir has been part of films Sadda Adda, Azhar, Zid, Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana. He was also seen in TV series 24 alongside Anil Kapoor.

Sony TV’s popular drama Mere Dad Ki Dulhan starring Varun Badola and Shweta Tiwari in lead roles has received much love from the viewers of the show owing to the unique storyline of the popular drama and the brilliant cast. Varun Badola Reveals he likes to stay connected with Cast says it gives him sense of the real world!
Varun Badola has enthralled the audience with his performances over the years and he is currently seen in Sony TV's show Mere Dad ki Dulhan along with Shweta Tiwari and Anjali Tatrari. The Actor has received great responses for his character in the show. Speaking to a leading portal, Varun revealed that he likes to stay in touch with his colleagues from the show as it gives him a sense of the real world.

Anjali Tatrari better known as Niya from Varun Badola and Shweta Tiwari starrer Mere Dad Ki Dulhan has garnered immense fan following with her debut show. The actress shares a special bond with her co-actors Shweta and Varun. Anjali is often seen having fun on the sets of the show. Shaleen Malhotra to enter 'Mere Dad Ki Dulhan’

Recently, according to a report in a leading paper, ‘Mere Dad Ki Dulhan’, which features Shweta Tiwari and Varun Badola in lead roles will see a new entry. The production house has now roped in actor Shaleen Malhotra of ‘Arjun’ fame to play Rishi, the parallel lead.



The television show has resumed their shoot back after three months and now the makers are trying their level best to bring interesting content to their audience by giving new twist to the storyline or introducing new characters.

Recently, according to a report in a leading paper, ‘Mere Dad Ki Dulhan’, which features Shweta Tiwari and Varun Badola in lead roles will see a new entry. The production house has now roped in actor Shaleen Malhotra of ‘Arjun’ fame to play Rishi, the parallel lead.

Shaleen has been roped in opposite Anjali Tatrari, who plays Varun Badola’s daughter in the show. Confirming the news to the paper, he told that his character is very much different from what he played till now. The character Rishi is a charmer and a smooth talker. Shaleen is joining the show midway so he feels that its challenging because if you are a part of a show since its start then you get to spend a lot of time with the cast and crew.

Shaleen will resume the shoot soon and he is very excited to be a part of the show.

The show highlights the progressive thought that love can be found at a later stage in life and that children can be the matchmakers for their single parents, too. While Amber (Varun Badola) and Guneet’s (Shweta Tiwari) love story saw many twists and turns, the audience loved their chalk and chemistry.

Earlier today, it might have come across as a shock to many out there that one of the most loved shows on Sony TV - Mere Dad Ki Dulhan (MDKD) is all set to go off-air. However, it seems that this was always planned and it hasn't been a shock for the cast and crew. The show was launched on November 19th 2019 and it will be going off-air next month onwards.

The reason it isn't a surprise for the cast and crew of MDKD is because it was always supposed to be a finite series and that is also what leading lady actor Shweta Tiwari said.

Tiwari opened up on the same to ETimes TV where she said, “As a character, Guneet will always stay close to my heart. I am glad that the audience has been so appreciative of the show. The best part about working in a finite show is that one knows the story arch and can work on the character accordingly, with no surprises.” Mere Dad Ki Dulhan is indeed a great addition to Indian TV space and as we know that the show, Story 9 Months Ki will be the one replacing MDKD, Tiwari opened up on that too.

She said, “It has been a great journey Story 9 months Ki charts the accidental love story of the urbane Alia and desi Sarang, bound together by the unexpected miracle of IVF.e both personally and professionally. I look forward to being a part of such unique concepts going forward as well.”

Anjali Tatrari, who plays the role of Niya in the show, went on to reveal how she is trying hard not to break down and that it is going to be weird on the last day. She also added how though they are prepared for it and know that it is going to happen, it feels like one is not prepared, still.

Meanwhile, the show was always supposed to be a finite series since the beginning, and when the news about the show first going off-air came out, Shweta went on to reveal how she is glad that the show was loved so much. She also went on to add how in fact, the best part about working with finite series is that one knows the arch of the story and can also work on the character, without any surprises.

Replacing the show will be Story 9 months ki, and it is another intriguing show, which will narrate the love story of the urbane Alia and desi Sarang, bound together by the unexpected miracle of IVF.
