Anandi aka Avika Gor of Balika Vadhu became the first Indian actor to be honoured at the International Drama Festival.

The child actor Avika Gor aka Anandi of Balika Vadhu speaks at an event, “It was the best experience of my life. An episode of Balika Vadhu was screened there. The audience over there were surprised to know that Indian shows run for about 300 episodes and over; while their shows wrap up in 15-25 episodes. My parents also accompanied me for the festival and they were just too happy.”

Further, she also spent most of her time shopping for clothes and shoes and she visited Disneyland. Not only this she tells that,” I learnt numbers from 1 to 99 and how to say ‘Thank you’ and ‘Good Bye’ in Japanese. That’s what my entire schedule permitted. My unit members are very happy with this honour especially my make- up uncle and my co-actors.”

Later on, she tells, “Indian shows are making waves in Tokyo. People there seemed to be in love with Indian drama and they appreciated our work a lot. It felt great that my speech was loved and appreciated by the audience in the festival. Not only this everyone wanted to speak with me and they were very eager to know what the show is all about.”
