Sony will now focus on three of its popular reality shows to give them the much needed numbers..
Sony Entertainment Television has gone thro' many a revamps when it comes to its fiction programming, but none of them have matched the fiction standards of other top class GECs.
Sony has now brought in a new strategy of competing with prime time fiction shows of other GECs with their popular and widely watched reality shows. Indian Idol 5 which has opened to a great response will now be aired at 9 PM, every Monday and Tuesday. The widely accepted Boogie Woogie is back and will be aired at the 9 PM slot, every Wednesday and Thursday. Their new show
Comedy Circus ke Superstars will launch on May 22nd and will air at 9 PM every Friday and Saturday.
When asked about the new strategy,
Ajay Bhalwankar, Programming Head, Sony said, "Yes, we are now looking at the 9-10 PM slot to be taken over by reality shows. Sony has always given something different, and this time we wanted to make our prime time programming crispy; also the fast paced nature of these shows is what makes the difference".
Guess it is going to be reality all the way for Sony!!
