Default New Prime Time Shows on TV

With the IPL season coming to an end, television channels are all geared to launch new prime time shows. There are many brand new dailies, weeklies and reality shows that will air on various channels. Take a look:



Rakhi ka Swayamvar

Rakhi Sawant is back on television with a new reality show called Rakhi Ka Swayamvar’ wherein Rakhi hunt for her groom, live on television. Rakhi has collaborated with NDTV Imagine who will act as the match maker in her marriage. The entire journey of the item girl right from the hunt to her marriage will all be captured on this show. It has been rumoured that she will end up marrying her ex-beau Abhishek Awasthi.

This reality show is based on the American game show, The Moment of Truth where in the contestants answer a series of 21 personal and embarrassing questions to win a grand cash prize. The format of the show is exactly like that of the American version. It will have a contestant who will be connected to a polygraph and will be asked about 50 questions and then the questions start getting more personal as the prize money increases. The show marks the return of Rajeev Khandelwal to television as he will host the show.

Rani Padmini of Chittod ka Johur

Renowned Bollywood set designer, Nitin Desai, who already has two shows on Star Pravaah titled Raja Chatrapati Shivaji and Bajirao and Mastani will be producing this show. This historical show will depict the life of Rani Padmini of Chittod, which will later continue on the pretext for Allah-ud-din Khijli’s attack on Chittod. The cast includes Mukesh Rishi, Tejaswini, and Rohit Bakshi.

Bhaskar Bharati

Bhaskar Bharti is partly an adaptation of an Argentine comedy show LaLola (which used to air on Firangi channel). The story revolves around a girl who takes revenge from a playboy with the help of a witch. So, one fine morning the guy turns into a pretty girl. Slowly he realizes his mistakes and decides to improve. The cast includes Aamir Ali, Eijaz Khan, Rukhsaar and many others.

The story revolves around the journey of a girl athlete who is the protagonist of the show. It is a very simple and sweet story of this athlete who after winning the championship in her city lands in Mumbai for the higher level championship. The turning point in the story comes when she falls in love and hence begins a new journey. The cast includes Tej Sapru who will be seen as the father of the lead actress. The rest of the cast comprises of newcomers.
