Finally! Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford tie the knot in a country wedding after 13
After 13 years together, Eamonn Holmes finally married his TV presenter partner Ruth Langsford.
The couple, both 50, tied the knot in a romantic country wedding in Hampshire on Saturday in front of celebrity friends and their eight-year-old Jack. The bride looked stunning as she walked down the aisle in a dress and matching headdress by Italian designer Angelina Colarusso at the 19th century Elvetham Hotel in Hook. The newlyweds were joined by famous friends including Royle Family star Sue Johnston, TV presenters Gloria Hunniford, Amanda Lamb and Jeremy Kyle, EastEnders actress Zoe Lucker and former champion boxer Barry McGuigan. Writing on his Twitter page on Sunday, the proud groom confirmed: 'Sorry if me and Ruth have been a bit quiet these past few days... but have been a bit preoccupied - we got married yesterday.  Happy news: Holmes confirmed his nuptials on Twitter on Sunday  The full interview is in the new issue of Hello! magazine, on sale now 'Although it was a truly stunningly beautiful day - even the sun was eclipsed by my beautiful bride, who I love even more than before.' Holmes gushed about his bride in the new issue of Hello! magazine, who obtained exclusive photographs of their special day. He told the magazine: 'Ruth was the missing jigsaw piece in my life. I was meant to be married. 'She's a wonderful mummy to Jack, a fantastic partner both personally and professionally and now, I'm proud to say, she's my beautiful wife.' Langsford, who co-hosts This Morning on Fridays with her new husband, enthused: 'Our relationship is very passionate. We're like Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor. 'Although we bicker and argue, ultimately our love for each other and the bond we share is so strong.' Sadly for Langsford, her father Dennis was unable to give her away because he suffers from Alzheimer's, so his best friend Arthur Mills stepped in one his behalf. Eamonn admitted last year he was happy simply 'living in sin' with Ruth and their seven-year-old son Jack in Surrey, but he became concerned about the future ahead of his 50th birthday last December. He told Hello! last year: 'I recently became conscious about my own mortality.The Northern Irish host asked Langsford to marry him via text message in a spur-of-the-moment decision at the Cheltenham Races on St Patrick's Day last year - her 49th birthday. 'When Natasha Richardson and Jade Goody died so young, I really felt to the children left behind in both families.  Working together: Holmes and Langsford present This Morning on Fridays 'It made me think, "If something happened to me, who would know how much I loved Ruth?" I just didn't want to be referred to as the boyfriend or partner.' The couple started dating in 1997 after Holmes split from his ex-wife Gabrielle, whom he divorced five years ago. They bought a house in Surrey together in 2001 after Lansford became pregnant with their son Jack.
