Best of 2009 Click Here

Hindustan times through its source declared that the team, lead by choreographers Harshal and Vitthal, lifted the trophy on 22nd December evening amidst several special guests including Shahid Kapoor. The team has also won prize money of Rs 51 lakh. Western Yodhas fought hard to make it to the top.

The conclusive episodes of Dance Premier League, produced by Cineyug for Sony, were shot over two days — Monday and Tuesday, at RK Studios, Chembur. Western Yodhas have apparently beaten the Central Soormas and the Southern Sizzlers to win the first season of the three-month long international dance competition.

Choreographer Mini’s Central Soormas and Southern Sizzlers were the first and second runner-up teams. The winning trophy was handed over by Rani Mukherjee and Shiamak Davar, the former Queen of DPL and the latter the umpire. There were several special performances by comedians and other teams to encourage the finalists for the last leg of the show. Hussain (Kuwajerwala) and Mona (Singh), former winners of Nach Baliye and Jhalak Dikhhlaja, put up a brilliant act as the hosts for the evening. Rani Mukherji and Shahid Kapoor also danced to their songs from Dil Bole Hadippa and Kapoor’s next, Chance Pe Dance.

Uttar Ke Puttar missed an entry into the finals when they lost the semi finals last week to Western Yodhas, Central Soormas and Southern Sizzlers. The other teams that eventually lost out at different levels in the series were Eastern Tigers and Desi Pardesi. The latter represented the NRI team and the former the eastern region of the country.

Remo D'souza showed his golden heart in Lux Dance India Dance 2

Do you remember that people used to call Remo ‘Gabbar’ for being a little stern with the contestants in Dance India Dance Season 1, but this Gabbar actually has a heart of gold as he proved it in auditions of Season 2.

A aspiring participant Chotu Lohar, who belongs to a impoverished family in Jharkhand and earns a living by working in the mines, reached for the auditions of season 2. Season 1 of Dance India Dance invoked his passion for dance and he tried to learn the art by watching television. His passion drove him to Kolkata where he left mentors spellbound with his muscle flexing. “Aap agar untrained hoke itna achha dance kar sakte ho....toh I wonder under training aap kitna achha perform karoge,” was Remo’s immediate reaction. A teary-eyed chotu said, “Sir, train karne ke liye paise kahan hai....pet bharne ke liye paise nahi hote, dance karne ke liye paise kahan se laoonga.”

Master Remo was so very moved by the boy’s dedication, that he offered a life changing proposition to him. He offered him a training in his training academy all free of cost and wants him to be back in Dance India Dance Season 3.

One word from Geeta ma had changed Sanjay Sinha’s life, we hope this will give a new dimension to Chotu’s life as well.
