Bollywood stars' reality appearances

Bollywood stars are now a regular feature on reality shows promoting their films. It works out well for everyone – the stars get to reach out to more people, the channels get higher TRPs ratings and audiences get to see their favourite people up, close. Indya lists some reality show regulars.

It is hard to see Akshay Kumar when he doesn’t have film due to come out. But when he does, he is a regular guest on reality shows, especially, it appears, singing reality shows. He was seen in various seasons of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, promoting Welcome, Singh Is Kinng and Chandni Chowk To China. He also performed stunts and did various charitable acts on these shows.

Deepika Padukone never fails to cash in on the popularity of reality shows to promote her films. She promoted Om Shanti Om on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Nach Baliye and Voice of India, Bachna Ae Haseno on Aaja Mahi Vey, Chandni Chowk To China at Indian Idol and Love Aaj Kal in the current season of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa.

Salman Khan make every reality show interesting with his presence. He promoted Partner, Yuvraaj, and others in reality shows like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Voice Of India, Dance India Dance, and even his own reality show, Dus Ka Dum. Salman usually accepts invites because of his friendships with people, and uses these as a platform stage for promoting his charity foundation, Being Human.

Before the release of Jab We Met, Shahid Kapoor was on Voice of India, Nach Baliye, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and even Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. Last week, he promoted Kaminey in L’il Champs and in the coming weekend, he will be seen promoting his next movie, Dil Bole Haddipa, in the India’s Got Talent final along with Rani Mukherjee on August 22.
