Rangasthalam First Movie Review Out: Ram Charan, Samantha Akkineni's Performance Will Leave Everyone Smitten And Impressed

Ram Charan is the star of the moment. It is not just his 33rd birthday that has him trending on social media but also his upcoming film Rangasthalam, that has him in news. The film has a great buzz around it and the song promo Jigelu Rani, that released today, has got a thumbs up from fans. Rangasthalam, directed by Sukumar, which will see Ram Charan play Chitti Babu, is all set to release on March 30. But we already have an early review of the film. From the sounds of it, the film starring Ram and Samantha Akkineni, is unmissable.

The cinematographer Rathnavelu, who has worked with Sukumar is various projects, has revealed that all fans can expect when they go into the theatres to watch Rangasthalam. Cinematographer Rathnavelu recently worked with Ram Charan’s father, superstar Chiranjeevi in Khaidi No 150 (early 2017) so a question comparing the father-son as actors was inevitable. In the interview, Rathnavelu said, “Chiranjeevi sir is a legend like Rajini sir and comes to the sets on time. Just like his dad, Ram Charan is also punctual but what I found is that he is a natural performer. Ram Charan is a one-take artist and spontaneous performer. He can give amazing output in his first and second take but he can’t repeat the same in consecutive takes.”

Talking to Firstpost, Rathnavelu also talked about Ram Charan’s performance in Rangasthalam and revealed, “After watching the film, everyone will rave about the performance of Ram Charan in the film.” And what about the leading lady Samantha? “Though Samantha plays a rural girl, we decided not to go for a deglam look. There is a beauty in dark women and we wanted to capture the natural beauty with Samantha in the film. In fact, Samantha told me that she never looked as beautiful as how we showcased her in Rangastham and appreciated us. After Ram Charan, Samantha’s performance will be another big attraction of Rangasthalam”, he shared. The film is set in a rural backdrop and Rathnavelu assures that they have moved away from the cliched showcase of a village and focused more on the earthiness of the place, which will be a visual treat for the audience. We cannot wait to watch Rangathalam after reading this. Can you?

Unusual plotline – While the love story forms an important part of the film, there is also another supporting story to this film. It’s also about unflinching loyalty and brotherhood. It’s also about the happening of a village. Three themes have combined to create an unusual story.

Ram Charan and Samantha Akkineni‘s (formerly Samantha Ruth Prabhu) Rangasthalam was one of the most awaited Telugu films of the year. And looks like the film has opened very well. In fact, not only has the movie started off well in India, but at the overseas market too. In America, the film opened yesterday (March 29) and from what we hear, the premiere has generated more than $630K in collections on day 1 itself. This has not only made Rangasthalam as Ram Charan’s highest box office opener in USA, but it has also helped register the sixth highest opening day collection for a Telugu film in the country.

Rangasthalam‘s opening at the American box office is just behind the day 1 collections of Baahubali 2, Agnyaathavaasi, Baahubali, Khaidi No 150 and SPYder.
