Yash Raj Films entered TV with five shows Mahi Way, Rishta.Com, Seven, Lift Kara De and Powder early this year with a load of promise. However, the excitement soon fizzled out as except
Mahi Way and
Rishta.Com the other shows didn’t fetch good numbers. The shows completed 26 episodes and that marked the end of their season. However, the buzz doing the rounds was that
Rishta.Com and
Mahi Way were to return with a second season.
The latest on this front is that YRF is not planning another season for either of the shows. Kavi Shastri aka Rohan from
Rishta.Com had recently updated on a social networking site that the production house has no plans for season two as of now. Shruti Seth who played Isha Mirchandani in
Rishta had also tweeted sometime back that the show would not be coming back.
We spoke to Pushtiie (the lead of
Mahi Way) who also echoed Kavi’s words. “As of now there is no word about season 2 of
Mahi Way.”
When contacted, Rafiq Gangjee, VP Marketing, Yash Raj Television said, “There were no plans of Season Two for any shows, since it wouldn’t make any sense. We are on break right now but we are planning new shows that will launch probably in October and December. But it is too early to comment on them.”
