TV anchors: The good and the bad

Anchors play an important role in the success of any reality show, whether it’s a dance show, an adventure show or even something like Bigg Boss; they add glamour and charisma. Here’s a look at some popular anchors and how they fared on the shows they hosted:

Shweta Gulati

She anchored STAR One’s Zara Nach Ke Dikha with her Dill Mill Gayye partner Karan Singh Grover; they had excellent comic timing. Shweta’s outfits were also good. After that she bagged another reality show, Dekh India Dekh, on Sony TV, which is on the lines of Comedy Circus.

Karan Singh Grover
This actor has a lot of attitude, which showed when he hosted Zara Nach Ke Dikha. He has his own distinctive style, and though the show didn’t do very well, a good anchor was found.

Mona Singh
Our very own Jassi won the first season of Jhalak Dikhala Ja, and then hosted the show’s second season with Rohit Roy. She is funny, dances well and was loud and bubbly, which audiences loved; she ended up hosting the third season of Jhalak Dikhla Ja as well. She hosted the first season of Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega and is back for the second.

Soumya Tondon
She presented a show called Meri Awaz Ko Milgayi Roshni and then later was seen in Zee TV’s Dance India Dance. She needs to work on her Hindi and improve her dialogue delivery. We hope to a better performance in the second season of Dance India Dance.

Shweta Tiwari
Everybody knows that she is good dancer and an actor, but she needs to improve on her anchoring. She anchored the last season of Jhalak Dikhala Ja, which was not too impressive, as we had expected better stuff from her.
