Himesh Reshammiya's style of singing, the cap that is so much a part of him and even the way he holds up the microphone has been the subject of many discussions. Love him or hate him, you can't ignore him.

Himesh started his career as a music director from Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya in 1998 and as a singer from Aashiq Banaya Aapne and gave many hits like Tere naam, Namaste London and Welcome. Himesh also became first singer and composer to perform at Wembley and Heinekens music hall.

Himesh Reshammiya won the Filmfare Best Male Playback Award for Aashiq Banaya Aapne.

Reshammiya has developed his own unique style of composition, based on pop music and catchy techno beats. He also places a particular emphasis on Indian melodic hooks to his songs.

With a series of popular film scores, he is considered to be one of the top music directors in Indian cinema today. His music is associated with the youthful and trendsetting culture that has recently been pervasive in India. Aishwarya Majmudar: Winning the reality show Voice Of India-Chhote Ustaad at a young age of 14 years, Aishwarya Majmudar has travelled a long way in the world of music. Her love and passion for music led her into training in Indian Classical music at the tender age of five. Her devotion and commitment has brought her laurels and acclaim in bagging awards at all levels of Singing Talent Contests.

She carries a heritage of music as her mother, father and grandmother all are trained singers. She started singing at the age of 3 and a half years old. At the age of 6, she participated and won her first stage contest. She is a recipient of famous Shaahu Modak Award and she achieved this feat at a young age of 12 years.




Raja Hassan: Raja Hasan comes from the desert city of Bikaner in Rajasthan. He belongs to the royal singers of the Jodhpur State thus singing comes naturally to Raja and he has brought this legacy to the international arena. He learned the art of classical singing with the help of his father and grand father. Raja has practiced classical singing for almost 18 years.

He was the 1st runner up on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007. Later he went on to win Ek Se Badhkar Ek, another singing and dancing programme on an entertainment channel. Raja's film career started even before Saregamapa Challenege 2007 finished. While still in the show, he recorded a song under the music direction of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy for the Hindi version of the movie High School Musical 2. The song titled Aaja Nachle is a chorus song but Raja's voice is clearly identifiable.




Vineet Singh: Vineet began singing at the age of 5 and was first noticed in a music reality show in 2005. On the show, he became Himesh Reshammiya's protégé and he gifted Vineet his trademark lucky cap, which Vineet sported for the rest of the show. Ever smiling, naughty, focused and always performing impeccably, he was the chosen favorite with the mentors and public alike.

Vinit's debut song in Bollywood was Dil Rang Le a duet with Sunidhi Chauhan for the film Rocky. Vineet performed with Himesh Reshammiya in his international concert series Aap Ka Surroor in the fall of 2006 with fellow contestant Himani Kapoor.





Munawwar Ali: 18-year-old Munawwar Ali belongs to a small village Dungargarh near Bikaner. He started singing ever since he realized he could pronounce words. This 18-year-old boy has been singing for the past 16 years. His father sings with the local Orchestra teams and has high hopes of seeing his son become a successful singer some day.

Music Ka Maha Muqqabla on Star Plus

The fervor of music reality shows has now grown into a breathtaking crescendo with a pathbreaking spectacle. Music Ka Maha Muqqabla is about six singing superstars and their six teams. This will truly be the Clash of the Titans where the star singers of India, leading their own team, will clash against each other to make their team supreme. They will have under their wing, three singers from Indian talent hunts who have already won the hearts of the people. Joining this power-packed team will be one new singer handpicked by the team's captain.

These six teams will vie for the title of Music Ka Maha Muqqabla. Every episode will be a war between two teams. The other four captains will be the judges for the day. Also acting as neutral judges would be two Bollywood personalities. Added to this would be the scores given by the live audience through the scoring pads provided to them at the ground. The winner of each episode would, thereby, be decided by calculating the judges' scores and the audience points.

Each episode will be shot in a ground, witnessed by thousands of music lovers. What is in store is great music.

Meet the team members:



Shaan (Captain): Music runs in his blood. Son of music composer Late Manas Mukherjee and brother to pop singer Sagarika, Shaan has carved a niche for himself in the music world. He started very young with ad-jingles. He paired up with his sister Sagarika to come up with Naujavan which was filled with youthful fervour. He, then, went his own way to not only sing on his own but also write and compose his songs. Tanha Dil became an anthem for the youth. He made his foray into films with Musu Musu Hasi and Woh Pehli Baar which made him a singing sensation.

Shaan, today, has been the voice of almost all of Bollywood's leading men starting from Shahid Kapur to Saif Ali Khan. His infectious smile filters into the songs that he sings. Shaan bagged the Filmfare for two consecutive years for the songs Jab Se Tere Naina (Saawariya) and Chand Sifarish (Fanaa) which has proved his versatility as a singer. Shaan has anchored couple of music reality shows which made him one of the most popular face on TV.

Shadab Faridi - Music Ka Maha Muqqabla



Belonging to the Saharanpur Gharana of music, Shadab learned singing from his early childhood. He sang a bandish at the age of 6 and has been learning music ever since. His father is a Sufi singer. Shadab has accompanied his father for many performances and has learnt a lot from him.

An ardent fan of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Shadab loves to sing Sufi songs and is looking forward to singing one in Amul Music Ka Mahamuqabla too. In the show, he thinks Himesh's team is going to give them a tough competition. Amongst his team members, he likes Anwesha's singing the most. He thinks this show can prove to be a turning point in his life and he wants to give in his best.
