Small town people also have their own dreams, and so our telly actors who have come from small towns must have wanted to make it big in the entertainment industry. We pick up some of our famous telly stars who have really made their hometown proud.


Sakshi Tanwar
She became household name through her character Parvati bhabhi of Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii. But in her early days she stayed in Alwar, which is in Rajasthan. No body knew that she would earn name and fame only through one serial.

Parul Chauhan
She is from Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh. She came from Lucknow to Mumbai in 2005 leaving her engineering course half way. This dusky actress did not get success initially, when she debuted in Balaji’s Kayamath as it was a small role but she got her big break through Bidaai as Ragini.

She is popularly known as Vidya of Banno Main Teri Dulhann. She is from Bhopal but her father and her entire family belongs to a small town Unchhera in Satna, MP.

Mouni Roy
She is mainly known for her role as Krishna Tulsi in the popular TV series Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi on STAR Plus. Mouni grew up in Gandhi Colony in Cooch Behar, West Bengal. She left her IAS examination to be the part of TV world.

Prem of Kis Des Main Hain Mera Dil, who has now become a hot favourite of everyone is from a small town called Gondia near Nagpur in Maharashtra. He came to Pune to make a big in modelling and so in 2004 he participated in Mr.Pune and got the Good Physique award.

Ankita Lokhande
She was an aspiring actress who came all the way from Indore to Mumbai to participate in Zee’s Cine Stars Ki Khoj. Though her first serial didn’t give her fame but Ekta Kapoor cast her in the lead role for her show Pavitra Rishta.
