Every few months shows with creative content and inventive, new ideas infuse the television channels bringing fresh blood. In the next 45 days, we have as many as 14 new shows airing on various channels. Take a look at what’s the offing and why you must watch them.



Sach Ka Samna

The super hit show Sach Ka Saamna that courted many a controversies will be back with a rocking second season soon. Instead of STAR Plus, this time the show will air on STAR One, with the dashing actor cum host Rajeev Khandelwal playing host for the second time in this Siddharth Basu's Big Synergy production. The desi Moment Of Truth, with Rs. 1 crore prize money had a great first run with the show opening with 4.9 points, the highest TRP at the time for a non-fiction show. Among other celebs, Ali Merchant will appear on Sach Ka Saamna 2 to spill the beans on his love, life, romance, marriage and divorce with Sara Khan.

Khatron Ke Khiladi-Torchaar
Akshay Kumar is back with 13 khiladis in tow. For the fourth edition of the desi Fear Factor, Akshay will accompany thirteen hotties namely Vindu Dara Singh's wife Dina who enjoyed being on Sony’s Maa Exchange, MTV VJ Bani famous off late for dating Shahid Kapur, actor-dancer Kashmera Shah who launched a raunchy calendar, Aarti Chhabria, model Diandra Soares, singer Mauli Dave, tv actor Aashka Goradia, item dancer Sambhavna Seth, Balika Vadhu's Smita Bansal, model Alecia Raut, Indian women's cricket team's former captain Anjum Chopra and MTV VJ Mia. Last but not the least the ill famous model Poonam Pandey.

Shot in South Africa in a start-to-finish 20-odd day schedule, Akki has also lent his voice for a song used in the music video for the show. The video will feature the show’s contestants. Let the games begin.

Bade Ache Lagte Hain
The first thing that strikes you about Sony’s most grandly mounted and ambitious fiction saga is the long title -Bade Achhe Laggte Hai… Yeh Dharti, Yeh Nadiya, Yeh Rainna Aur Tum. Produced by Balaji Telefilms, the show explores the worlds of two different personalities – Priya Sharma and Ram Kapoor, who discover love accidentally after they come together through the institution of marriage. A happy go lucky Priya Sharma (Sakshi Tanwar), an unmarried woman in her early thirties, believes that marriage has passed her by yet continues to be a romantic soul who takes joy in relishing every moment and every activity around her.

On the other hand, Ram Kapoor (Ram Kapoor), an entrepreneur in his early forties, is extremely busy with the business and does not feel the need of a life partner. Yet, marriage suddenly comes knocking at his door. With Bade Acche Laggte Hai, Sony aims to expand the women viewership exponentially! Swayamvar – Ratan Ka Rishta
Imagine's next big reality show Swayamvar – Ratan Ka Rishta, shot in Samode Palace in Jaipur, received an overwhelming response with as many as 54,863 eligible grooms vying for her hand. Guys from all corners of India participated and few came from Saudi Arabia, USA, UK and even Pakistan.

With Hiten Tejwani replacing Ram Kapoor as host, this season of Swayamvar should be interesting. Celebs that will appear on the show are Bigg Boss contestant Dolly Bindra, Nandish Sandhu, Rashmi Desai, Ragini Khanna, Mona Singh, Rakshandha Khan among others. The promos depict Ratan as a bindaas girl with a tomboyish attitude and not the sweet- docile actress she is on television. This one should be mighty interesting to watch.

Kitchen Champion 4
Busybee Ronit Roy will be back hosting the famous cookery show Kitchen Champion on Colors. The actor-host will be accompanied by twelve beautiful ladies from the television world namely Dia and Jahnvi of Na Aana Is Des Laado, Parul Chauhan, Anandi aka Pratuysha, Neha Marda, Devki of Mukti Bandhan and more. The show has an interesting concept and a lot of brand value. Having hosted all three seasons, Ronit is looking forward to Kitchen Champion 4.

X-Factor
After Indian Idol, Sony Entertainment Television brings yet another musical reality show called X-Factor. Sony brings the desi version of X-Factor which is a hit musical reality show in the US. This Indian version is touted as the channel's biggest and bestest show ever. With reality shows bringing in mega bucks in India, Sony TV is betting a lot on this show especially after Indian Idol. The show has singer Sonu Nigam, a popular face but an accomplished and celebrated singer, as judge along with producer director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The third judge is the talented singer Shreya Ghoshal. Aditya Narayan will host the show.

Why you should watch it: for the S-factor, three judges who are supremely talented.

Hamari Saas Leela
Back on the Saas brigade, producer Asit Modi’s new show on Colors features the very famous Saas -Apara Mehta. She is back with a bang in Hamari Saas Leela, a new Gujarati Family based show, where Apara plays the protagonist Leela, who has a middle class mentality. Unlike her previous roles, she doesn’t play a grey character but yes has the qualities of a woman who faced tough times in life, but now is rich! Leela is a funny noveau rich woman who uses the elite brands but can’t pronounce them. She plays the much loved mother who is on the look out for her perfect bahu’s for her 4 adorable sons!

Why you should watch it: For the brilliant Apara Mehta and producer Asit Modi who gave the super hit Tarak Mehta.

Li'l Champs
After Dance Ke Superstars, Zee TV is gearing up for the next season of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li'l Champs. Joining the show as judges is the Kashmiri Indian Pop singer Kailash Kher and the actor composer from Pakistan, Adnan Sami. Jay Soni will host the show along with talented kids Afsha Musani and Dhairya Sonecha, the li’l anchors of 2009.

Why you should watch it: For Jay Soni’s debut as host and talented kids.

Is Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon
STAR Plus’ new show Is Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon stars Barun Sobti and Sanaya Irani and is a story of a businessman Barun who thinks money can buy anything. When he meets the self respecting Sanaya, his views on life change. Sanaya will be seen in a new look after her popular role Gunjan. The pairing of Barun and Sanaya in the promos, shows promise.

Emotional Atyaachaar & Superstud
Utv Bindass brings two shows for its youthful audience. While UTV Bindass’ hottest show Emotional Atyachar will see a new season with the same host- cool guy Pravesh Rana, buzz is that Ajay Devgn will join him as a co-host.

Popular inmate of Big Boss house, Ashmit Patel will soon be seen on the small screen in UTV Bindaas’ new show Superstud. The show features Ashmit as a mentor and is about his search for the country’s ultimate Casanova. Natasha Suri would be his support link playing the host of the show. It would indeed be an interesting contrast of personalities coming together for a show of such an interest!

Mrs. Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuyein & Jai Somnath
Zee TV will soon be ready with a brand new show called Mrs. Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuyein. The story revolves around Mrs Kaushik, aka Vibha Chibber of Bidaai fame, and her daughters-in-law who belong to different parts of India. Ashiesh Roy, who was last seen playing the comic character Anna in Mrs and Mr Sharma Allahabadwale, will be seen in a serious avatar in this show. Produced by Rashmi Sharma Telefilms, the serial is about girl who lies about anything and everything to get her way. Mrs. Kaushik is a strict disciplinarian and doesn’t tolerate liars. What will happen when she marries Mrs. Kaushik’s fifth son?

Television actor Yash Tonnk, who was last seen in Sony’s Maa Exchange, will be back with a new historical drama Jai Somnath on Zee TV. It will replace the famous Zee TV’s historical drama Jhansi Ki Rani. Yash will essay the role of the king of Bharuch, Dutta Chalukya and it will be Yash’s first historical drama. Supporting him will be Amrita Raichand in the role of his loving wife Rani Gayathri Devi. King of Bharuch was very emotional man when it came to matters of heart but brutal in battle. He had defeated Mohd. Gaznavi (Gazni) and became famous.
