Default Akash Sagarís Veer Hanuman

At just 21, producer Moti Sagarís son Akash is directing his first television show, Veer Hanuman, on Colors. Indya caught up with the youngster whose show premieres today.

Akash says, ďI have set up, produced and directed the show. So far, I have directed about five episodes of Veer Hanuman. It has been quite an experience. Television has taught me how to give my best in very short time. I feel good that my work will be going public today.Ē

Talking about why he chose a mythological subject to debut with, he says, ďI chose it because the story of Hanuman has not been done many times before like other mythological stories. It was very challenging for a newcomer to do a project like this so I took it up.Ē

The director is equally passionate about acting and music. He has scored the background music for Veer Hanuman and plans to make it as a Bollywood star when the time is right. He says, ďIt was very tough for me to do the music. I felt that I had to give my best to the show from all sides so I did it. Itís like providing your baby with everything. As for acting, I have done a two-year acting and theatre course from Chittaranjan Giri. I donít think about my Bollywood debut much but ya, if it has to happen, it will. Let time decide.Ē

How will Veer Hanuman differ from the hit serial Jai Hanuman based on the same topic? Akash says, ďVeer Hanuman has a very different approach. Itís not the same as regular TV serials. The looks of the characters are realistic. The show will also feature sets and effects that have never been seen before on Indian television. Now, viewers will have to decide and respond to the show. Only time will tell whether what I have done attracts viewers or not.Ē
