Default Special Star Cast, Photos, Videos: Zee TV's Ramayan (Sabke Jeevan Ka Aadhar - Ramayan)

Zee TV to launch Ramayan – Will Sunday slot’s magic work for Zee TV?

Sundays will never be the same again! Well you might have thought that Satyamev Jayate might be back. Well it might, but not this soon. We are talking about Ramayan. Yes Ramayan is back on Zee TV. Remember those when the entire family used to sit together in the living room and be hooked on to television to watch India’s most widely viewed mythological series, Ramayan.

The timeless classic will be aired on every Sunday, 11.00am on both the channels

In an exciting revival of the once-popular phenomenon of Sunday morning TV viewing for the whole family, Zee TV, will premiere the country's most revered mythological series, Ramayan, at 11 am on Sunday, 12 August and the same will be simulcast on Doordarshan every Sunday.

Ajay Bhalwankar, Head- Content, Hindi GECs, ZEE said, "Some shows, by sheer virtue of their content, deserve to be made available to every single Indian. Ramayan is a way of life that our future generations must carry on as their biggest legacy. So, with a view to ensuring that we maximize its reach, we have made the show available on Doordarshan at the same time slot of 11 am every Sunday. By showcasing Ramayan on a Sunday morning, we wish to engage the entire family, right from grandparents to the child in the house, in a joint TV viewing experience."

A timeless classic based on Tulsidas' Ramcharitmanas, Ramayan will be a grand recreation of the original epic and will thrive on authenticity of representation. Commenting on the production quality of the show, Ajay Bhalwankar said, "We have roped in the only team in India truly equipped for the task … If anyone can make the magic of Ramayan come alive, it is the Sagars. Moti ji, Amrit and Meenakshi Sagar are all set to recreate the classic."

Neil Bhatt, who played the lead in Zee TV's 12/24 Karol Bagh, will be seen as the devoted brother Lakshman while Shikha Swaroop, the former beauty queen-turned-actress will reveal shades of grey as Kaikeyi. Actor Rishabh Shukla will step into the shoes of King Dashrath, Lord Rama's father.

Ramayan premieres on Zee TV and will simulcast on Doordarshan at 11 am every Sunday, starting from 12 August.

Not long ago NDTV Imagine had managed to impress the television audience with Ramayan. It was based on Valmiki’s Ramayan and Tulsidas’s Ramcharitmanas, as well as Chakbasta’s Urdu Ramayan, and was produced by Sagar Arts. This mythological show in particular has always tasted success and produced stars overnight. The first version had Arun Govil, Deepika and Dara Singh and the second starred Gurmeet Choudhary and Debina Bonnerjee. So what does Zee TV has in store for the Television Audience? Who will be the cast of this new show?

Well we have some information about that. Gagan Malik and actress Neha Sargam (seen in Punar Vivah) will play the main role of Ram and Sita. Rishabh, who is most known for his role of King Shantanu in ‘Mahabharat‘ and was last seen in ‘Baat Hamari Pakki Hai‘ will play the role of Raja Dashrath while Sunita Rajwar, last seen in ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai‘ will be seen as Manthra in ‘Ramayan’. Shikha Swaroop, who was last seen in ‘Chandrakanta’, is returning to the small screen after 12 years to play Kaikayee in the latest version of mythological show ‘Ramayan’. Neelima Parandekar will play the role of Kaushalya, Lord Ram’s mother.

Some believe that the New Ramayan could be a best approach to give moral values to coming generation and make them acknowledge of Epic Ramayan. So when Zee TV is planning to launch the show? Well, the show will be a weekly and most probably will be aired on Sunday mornings at 11:00 from Sunday 12th August. So are you ready to go back in time and sit with your entire family and watch Ramayan?Do let us know about your views about this third attempt to bring Ramayan back.
Happy Viewing!

Ramayan's Promo's

Sunday mornings will never be the same again! In an exciting revival of the once-popular phenomenon of Sunday morning TV viewing for the whole family, ZEE TV, India's leading Hindi General Entertainment Channel (GEC), will premiere the country's most revered mythological series, Ramayan, at 11 AM.

A timeless classic based on Tulsidas' Ramcharitmanas, Ramayan shows viewers a way of life … it is rich in the core values, ideals and principles that form the crux of Indian culture and upbringing. Centuries after the original epic was first written, its relevance in contemporary times remains unquestioned. The jet-setting, smartphone-toting denizens of the Twitter age can benefit immensely from applying its learnings to their lives!

Ajay Bhalwankar, Head- Content, Hindi GECs at ZEE said, "Ramayan is a way of life that our future generations must carry on as their biggest legacy … The characters Rama, Sita, Lakshman, Bharat, Hanuman and Ravan are all fundamental to the cultural consciousness of India. They are the embodiments of concepts such as the ideal father, wife, king, servant and brother. The show, like the religious epic it is based on, explores the subtleties of the delicate relationships within one's family. By showcasing Ramayan on a Sunday morning, we wish to engage the entire family, right from grandparents to the baby in the house, in a joint TV viewing experience."

ZEE TV's Ramayan will be a grand recreation of the original epic and will thrive on authenticity of representation. Speaking of the production quality of the show, Ajay Bhalwankar said, "We have roped in the only team in India truly equipped for the task … if anyone can make the magic of Ramayan come alive, it is the Sagars. Moti ji, Amrit and Meenakshi Sagar are all set to recreate the classic."

Neil Bhatt, who played the lead in ZEE TV's 12/24 Karol Bagh, will be seen as the devoted brother Lakshman while Shikha Swaroop, the former beauty queen-turned-actress will reveal shades of grey as Kaikeyee. Actor Rishabh Shukla will step into the shoes of King Dashrath, Lord Rama's father.

Shikha Swaroop said, "I am excited about my role of Kaikeyi. I think essaying a warrior queen with shades of grey calls for an air of regality, poise that comes only with power, strength of character and a stern, steely body language. As a former beauty pageant winner and a model, I have, over the years, imbibed the art of composing my body language to suit any role I play. I will enjoy playing such an iconic mythological character and hope to add my own charm and individuality to it."

Neil Bhatt added, "I am told I was cast because I had the lean, athletic physicality required for the role. What I also hear is that Ramayan on ZEE TV will not have archaic Hindi in the dialogue. The language will be kept simple and lucid. This will aid us as actors in connecting better with our audiences as you can emote with better conviction when you feel the lines!"

In a most unique innovation in the digital space, ZEE TV is all set to create a virtual temple on its official website that will let devotees perform an online aarti at the click and drag of a mouse. Ramayan will also have interactive apps on social networking websites to ensure a good connect with the younger demographics.

Zee TV

Sagar Pictures, who produced Dwarkadheesh Bhagwan Shri Krishn on Imagine TV, is now working on yet another mythological show. Yes, the production house will now come up with Ramayan for Zee TV.

We hear that the casting for the show is in full swing. The plan is to go on floor sometime in July. The channel is looking for an August 2012 launch. The show will be a weekly and most probably will be aired on Sunday.

We tried calling producer Moti Sagar and dropped a text message too, but could not get a confirmation.

Our efforts to reach Sukesh Motwani, Fiction Head, Zee TV also proved futile.

Let’s see if Zee TV can further strengthen its weekend programming with this mytho series.

Dheeraj Dhoopar and Siddharth Arora approached to play Laxman in Zee TV's Ramayan

Dheeraj Dhoopar and Siddharth Arora

Moti Sagar Productions’ mythological offering on Zee TV, Ramayan is the next talked about show. It has already been reported that big names like Aamir Dalvi, Gagan Malik, Avinash Sachdev, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Neha Sargam, amongst others, have been approached to play the pivotal roles of Ram and Sita.

.com has now got to know that Dheeraj Dhoopar, who came to the limelight with Rajan Shahi’s Swarg on Colors, and Siddharth Arora of Mukti Bandhan fame have been approached to play the role of Laxman.

Though the casting of Ram and Sita has not been finalized yet, it looks as though it will be a toss-up between Gagan Malik and Aamir Dalvi for the role of Ram. And Neha Sargam might bag the role of Sita. However, the final decision has not been arrived at.

We tried contacting both Siddharth and Dheeraj, but could not get through to them.

Ramayan will launch on 12 August 2012 and the promos are already on air.

Let’s get to see who bags the prized roles in the upcoming mythological..

Shikha Swaroop to essay Kaikeyi in Zee TV's Ramayan

Shikha Swaroop who got famous as Chandrakantha is now back on television with Moti Sagar Productions' Ramayan on Zee TV.

We hear that the talented actress has been roped in to play the role of Kaikeyi in the mythological which is to launch on 12 August (2012) at the 11am slot.

The promos of the show are presently on air which shows that Rishabh Shukla essays the role of King Dasharath.

We tried getting in touch with Shikha but we could not get through to her. We will try to connect again.

Watch this space for more updates on the show..

Neil Bhatt approached for the role of Laxman in Zee TV's Ramayan

Neil Bhatt

Zee TV’s next big launch, Ramayan has raised quite a lot of curiosity especially because it is slated to revive the trend of mythological shows being aired in the morning slot over weekends. And the intensive search for the new Ram, Laxman and Sita has increased the expectations amongst the common man.

.com has already reported that seasoned actor Shikha Swaroop will be making a comeback in the role of Kaikeyi in this Moti Sagar Productions show. We had also written that Neha Sargam holds a high chance of bagging the role of Sita. And when it comes to Ram, many names like Gagan Malik, Avinash Sachdev, Aamir Dalvi, amongst others, are being touted. .com had also given an update about Siddharth Arora and Dheeraj Dhoopar being options for essaying the role of Laxman.

We now hear that Neil Bhatt, who was last seen in Gulaal, has also been approached for the role of Lakshman. Ramayan will launch on August 12 (2012) and will take the 11am slot every Sunday.

When contacted, Neil said, “Yes, I have auditioned for the role of Laxman. But I know nothing beyond that”.

We also hear that Divyanka Tripathi was also offered the role of Sita and she was close to taking it up. However, she had to decline the offer as she was not ready to shoot in Baroda.

Let’s see who bags the roles of Ram, Sita and Laxman in Zee’s next.

Binny Sharma to play Sita in Ramayan?

The search for Ram and Sita for Zee TV's Ramayan has been on for quite some time now with big names like Aamir Dalvi, Gagan Malik, Avinash Sachdev, Neha Sargam, Divyanka Tripathi, amongst others, being in the reckoning.

We now hear that Channel Zee find, Binny Sharma who enthralled one and all with her dancing s****s in Dance India Dance and then diversified her talent as the lead in Zee TV's Sanjog Se Bani Sangini has been short listed to essay the role of Sita.

Though the channel has not entirely decided on their Ram and Sita, it now looks as though in all probability Binny might play Sita in Moti Sagar Productions' Ramayan for Zee TV.

When contacted, Binny Sharma said, “I have auditioned for the role and it would be a priviledge for me to work with Zee again. However, I have not heard back from them.”

And with respect to Ram, it is still Gagan Malik who seems to be topping the list.

We tried contacting Meenakshi Sagar but did not get any revert till the time of filing the story.

Let’s wait to see what happens next.

Chandragupta fame Rushiraj Pawar to play young Ram in Zee TV's Ramayan

Rushiraj Pawar

Child prodigy Rushiraj Pawar who catapulted to success as the young Chandragupta in Imagine’s successful show of Sagar Arts and 72 Degrees Northe, Chandragupta Maurya will soon be back on the small screen in yet another avatar.

.com gives our readers the breaking news of Rushiraj being roped in to play the role of the young Ram in Zee TV’s upcoming epic show Ramayan. This Moti Sagar Productions show is scheduled to launch on August 12 2012 at the 11am slot on Sunday. We hear that Rushiraj has begun shoot at Baroda.

Also, the news coming in is that child actor Adarsh who was seen in Moti Sagar Productions’ Mahavir Hanuman on Colors will essay the role of young Laxman while new face Dhruv will seen playing the role of Bharat. Lakshya Wahi who is the brother of Rak**** Wahi (seen as Sunny in Sony’s Parvarish) will play the role of Shatrughn.

As we have already reported, Shikha Swaroop will essay the role of Kaikeyi.

When contacted, Rushiraj Pawar’s dad confirmed to Tellychakar.com that presently, they are at Baroda as Rushiraj has started shoot for Zee TV’s Ramayan.

Here’s wishing Rushiraj a great second innings on television..
