.com was the first to report about Hats off Productions coming up with a new family drama, tentatively titled Alakshmi, on Life OK. We also broke the news of the makers casting Helly Shah, as one of the female leads, and also legendary Supriya Pathak in a pivotal role.

Now, we are back to reveal the names of some more entries. Here goes to the list.

Anang Desai, Ujjwal Chopra (last seen in Gulaal), Priyamvada Sawant (of Shubh Kadam fame), Sunil Vishrani (last seen in Papad Pol) and theatre actors namely Purvi Vyas and Disha Savla will be seen in the show.

Alakshmi will have a huge star cast as its story will revolve around the happenings in two families. If sources are to be believed, then the female protagonist’s character will be that of a mentally challenged one.

We contacted Anang Desai and he confirmed, “I will be seen as the head of the family and that’s all I can say at this point of time. It’s a very interesting concept and audience has to watch the series.”

Ujjwal Chopra also confirmed his entry but refused to share any other detail. We shall soon upload more interesting dope from Alakshmi!!!

Good news for the fans of Helly Shah. The beautiful and petite actress – who was last seen as Kesar in Sphere Origin’s Gulaal on Star Plus – is all set to make her comeback on television. We know you guys are happy? Yes, she will be seen in Hat’s Off Productions’ upcoming show, tentatively titled Alakshmi, on Life OK.

The show is a remake of a hit Bengali show Romonir Gune (Star Jalsa). Helly will play the role of the female lead, Lakshmi, who will be very naughty and mischievous in nature and will be someone who never cries in life. Alakshmi is a family drama about three brothers and their household fights. The outdoor shooting of the show will begin after 11 April 2012 in Wai, near Pune.

.com spoke to Helly who said, “Yes, I have been approached for the role but I can’t comment anything as it’s too early to talk about it.”

Supriya Pathak in Alakshmi on Life OK

Supriya Pathak is fabulous. She is a wonderful person and an amazing actress. Over the years, she has played some of the finest characters on the tube and on the celluloid (Mirch Masala, Kalyug, Masoom et al). Who can forget her hilarious histrionics as Hansa in the show Khichdi? Now, the lovely lady is all set to portray yet another interesting role in Hats Off Productions’ upcoming show on Life OK, tentatively titled, Alakshmi.

The production house has already roped in some popular names like Raman Kumar, Falguni Desai and Helly Shah. Supriya will be seen playing the character of Shanti. She will be the grand mother-in-law of the female lead, Lakshmi (Helly Shah).

As reported earlier, Alakhsmi is a remake of a Bengali hit series Romonir Gune (Star Jalsa). The shooting for the show has already begun and it will hit the airwaves post IPL.

.com talked to Supriya and she said, “I am doing a project with Hat’s Off but I can’t divulge much at this point of time.”

.com was the first to report about the cute and petite actress Helly Shah of Gulaal fame being hired by Hat’s Off Productions for their new show on Life OK, Alakshmi. And the latest that we have learned is that veteran actors Falguni Desai and Neeraj Kshetarpal have also given their consent to be the part of the star cast.

Gujarathi actress Falguni Desai –who was earlier seen in Hat’s Off Productions’ Shree on Zee TV – will be seen playing the role of the female lead, Lakshmi’s (Helly Shah) maami, Bhadrakali. She will hate her niece as she will not be her own child.

Now, Neeraj Kshetarpal will be seen playing the role of Bhadrakali’s husband in the show. He was also seen in Rajshri Productions’ Main Teri Parchhain Hoon on Imagine.

.com spoke to Falguni who confirmed the news and said, “Yes, I am doing the show. I will play the female lead’s aunt but it’s too early to talk about my character.”

Neeraj Kshetarpal remained unavailable.

The show is expected to go on air after IPL season ends.

Producer-director Raman Kumar turns actor with Hats off Production's Alakshmi

.com was the first to break the news of Helly Shah bagging the role of the female lead in Hats Off Production’s upcoming fiction show on Life OK, tentatively titled Alakshmi.

Here’s some more dope on the show. Raman Kumar is a name in the world of entertainment that needs no introduction. He is a famous director and producer who started his stint in television as a co-director in Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi Hai (1984). Then he went on to produce and direct many iconic shows across genres, namely, Tara, Agnichakra, Sansaar et al.

Now, Raman, the versatile man, is all set to widen his horizon and don the mantle of an actor with Alakshmi.

“He will play the role of an elderly father-in-law,” informed a source.

We got in touch with Raman and he gleefully shared, “I was a part of theater but acting has never been my genre. JD (producer of Hats off) is my friend so I decided to opt for it. Anyways, no one ever approached me to act as I am primarily a director. Hats off is a great production house and I would love to be part of it but I am yet to get a confirmation from the channel.”

We also contacted JD Majethia and he said, “Hopefully we would be working with Raman Kumar.”

The show will go on floors in the next couple of days!!!
