Will expand operations by adding another assembly line at the Aurangabad facility.
Audi has confirmed that they will launch three more models in India by end of this year. The German luxury car manufacturer has seen significant growth in India in the last few months, despite an overall lull in the automobile industry in 2011. Audi sold 5,511 units in 2011, which is about 84 per cent higher as compared to the 2010 numbers. The company now plans to further expand its operations in India by offering more products and also by locally assembly popular models.
Audi plans to offer the latest version of TT coupe in India by the end of this month, while the much awaited Q3 and the sporty S6 will be launched later in the year. Audi will also set up another assembly line in India at the Aurangabad facility, to locally assemble two more models. The compact SUV Q3 is expected to be one of the tow models to be assembled here, while the second model will probably be the new A6 sedan. Audi will further invest around 9 million Euros in India by 2015 for developing their facility and infrastructure.
