Avinash Sachdev aka Dev of Zee TV's Chhoti Bahu shares his excitement about the show coming back...
The love from the audience towards their favorite show Chhoti Bahu was so incredible that it brought the show back in action again. Even though the show has started its telecast from 15th of this month, the grand entry of Dev and Radhika will be telecast from 21st of this month.
We caught up with Avinash Sachdev who plays the adorable character of Dev in the Zee TV show..
Let's see what Avinash has to say on it…
Tell us something about your comeback with the show?
Well, we both were on a long tour after Chhoti Bahu went off air and we were just traveling all the time from Malayasia, to Kenya to USA for the promotional activity of our show. That was the time when our fans were far more in abroad than in India. In the middle of the tour we were informed that the channel is coming up with Season 2 of Chhoti Bahu, the proposal for which we both immediately gave a nod.
What is your character in the show?
I am basically a child who is an orphan. Since the character is an orphan it was a challenge for me to imbibe the character as I as a person is different from the character. I have tried to watch few people who are orphans and have learnt how they behave in various situations. The character is very much different from Dev of Season 1 as he was very much calm and obedient. Whereas in this season, Dev is a college going guy who is a bit rough in nature.
What preparations have you done to imbibe this character?
I have almost gained 9 kgs of weight, which was important for the role, because Dev has to look like a young college going guy and not a mama's boy. So I have to look like the handsome hunk. Actually while I was in USA we got to know that Chhoti Bahu will be back soon, and simultaneously my character was briefed to me. Hence I had already started eating chocolates, cheese and whatever that would help me to gain weight. Once I was back from the tour, I shaped up my body and that was how I changed my personality to some extent to match up with Dev of this season.
Was it a deliberate effort to be with Rubina in every venture?
No, actually it was a co-incidence because once when Chhoti Bahu ended we both had made up our mind that both of us had to go two different ways as we would not be getting a chance to work together again. But luckily, we got signed up and got a chance to work together again for Chhoti Bahu, but in future it will not be a deliberate effort to work together.
Your relationship was not public till the near past, what you have to say on it?
Actually we both were never asked about our relationship, so there was no time to speak it out publicly. But yes, have been seeing each other for more than a year now.
So is marriage on cards?
Not right now, as we will be totally concentrating on Chhoti Bahu. After two to three years we will definitely tie the knot in front of everyone.
What do you have to say on your show replacing Agle Janam which earlier took your time slot?
I would say that it was a slot responsibility which we had given to Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo while we were going off air. Now that our show is back Agle Janam is giving us our slot responsibility back to keep it safe.
Any message to your fans?
I am really overwhelmed with my fans as we never realized that we are so much close to their hearts while we were doing Chhoti Bahu. Only when we stepped out of Chhoti Bahu we came to know how much people liked Dev-Radhika and their chemistry. So we are here back again to create the magic of Dev-Radhika's love through a new love story.

The big leap in Zee TV and DJ's Creative Unit's Chhoti Bahu took place yesterday, where for the first time the leads Dev (Avinash Sachdev) and Radhika (Rubina Dilaik) were introduced. In the next few episodes, more new characters will be seen entering the show.. 
One funny college experience: Actually I have never gone to college but I can share one from school. Our school became co-ed when we were in XI and to welcome the girls we all put itching powder on their benches after which the girls as well as boys got suspended.
