The Voice UK 2018 finalists: Who's in the live shows REVEALED

The Voice UK contestants in the live shows

Share on Twitter Share on Facebook

Who's in the The Voice UK 2018 live shows? The first finalists have been revealed as contestants face the knockouts.

Last month saw the four coaches complete their four teams with Olly Murs, Sir Tom Jones, Will.i.am and Jennifer Hudson having each picked ten talented artists.
In last Saturday's episode, the battles concluded as the coaches cut their teams in half with a series of head to head musical duets that only one act could win.
However the steals were back, giving each coach the ability to pick up an extra acts that their rivals sent home, pinching them for their own teams in the knockouts.
Tonight saw the first half of the knockouts as three of the six acts in each team performed for a place in the live shows.
At the end of the performances, the mentor for that team picked one act to take into the live semi-final at the end of the month.
The remaining trio of acts left in each team will perform in next Saturday's knockouts, each singing for the remaining spot in the live stages on their team.

After the battles a total of 24 contestants remain in the competition but over the next two weekends they'll be whittled down to just 8. We'll be saying goodbye to half of them as the coaches each pick just two finalists for the live finals.

All the coaches will have something to say before the mentor of that team selects who goes through.

The Voice UK 2018 live shows get a BIG shake up

It's all change on The Voice UK 2018 this year as the live shows near.

This series will see just the two weekends of live episodes, a semi-final and a grand final. It's the fewest live shows The Voice UK has ever seen, down from the five last year and six in the first series that aired on BBC One.

It means each coach will be picking just two finalists each for their teams in the knockout rounds, which begin this weekend on ITV. This year the knockout rounds will be pre-recorded as opposed to airing live like in 2017. It means it'll be the coaches alone who decide which acts make it through to the final stages.

Olly Murs, Sir Tom Jones, Jennifer Hudson and will.i.am.

Currently six acts remain in each of the four teams, following seven weeks of blind auditions and three weekends of battle rounds. The knockout stages will air from Saturday night at 8:30PM as the first 12 singers fight for their places in the live shows. Coaches Jennifer Hudson, will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones and Olly Murs will pick which acts from their teams to progress in the competition. With some tough decisions to make, helping the coaches in the knockouts will be some very special guests Craig David, The Black Eyed Peas, Kylie Minogue, Leona Lewis and The Voice UK's reigning champion Mo Jamil.

Those who make it through will be one step closer to the chance of winning a recording contract with Polydor Records.

The Voice UK schedule

Saturday. March 17 - Knockouts 1/2
Saturday. March 24 - Knockouts 2/2
Saturday. March 31 - Live Semi Final
Saturday. April 7 - Live Final

Meanwhile, it's been revealed that Presenter Vick Hope has joined The Voice UK as the show's new digital reporter. The television and radio presenter will front digital coverage for The Voice UK from the start of the Knockouts this weekend through to the live Semi-Final and Final.

On The Voice UK, Vick takes over from Jamie Miller, who came third on last year’s show, as he focusses on launching his music career after signing with US label Atlantic Records.
