BIGG BOSS 5: Mahek Chahal does a ‘Jalebi bai’

The contestants reach Kolkata in the morning. Here, Shakti Kapoor is dressed as the judge of a cheerleading competition. The female contestants are divided into two teams – blue and red. Sonika Kaliraaman and Lakshmi Tripathi are captains of the blue and red teams respectively. Contestants choreograph their own moves and a competition is held to determine which team did a better job.


Shakti scolds Lakshmi for overshadowing her fellow housemates while performing tasks. Lakshmi takes offense and a catty fight ensues where she picks on everyone and gives them a piece of her mind. Fights and arguments galore continue with contestants complaining among each other about division of daily household chores. Nihita Biswas starts plotting and playing her own games to get some fellow contestants on her side. She pulls Shraddha Sharma, Vida Samadzai and Gulabo Sapera to her side by creating differences among them based on the daily household chores of washing utensils.
All the housemates are agitated about the toll that the weekly task is taking on them and Shakti calls a meeting to discuss what to do about it. While they all agree that the task should end and even consider boycotting it, Shakti convinces them to let it continue and comes up with a solution that the others give their go ahead to. Mahek Chahal and Juhi Parmar discuss the heated environment in the house and anticipate many arguments in the house in the coming days.


Mahek, Shonali Nagrani and Lakshmi finally move their topic of discussion to the one thing that is missing from the Bigg Boss House – men! While Mahek states that she is glad that they are no guys in the house, other than Shakti, Shonali says that there would have been issues with breakdown of kitchen duties if there had been more guys in the house. Lakshmi, however, is quick to add that the guys would also try to woo the girls and add to their problems.


Continuously cycling through the course of the day, Shraddha Sharma grows extremely antsy. She requests her team members to come relieve her, but no one wants to take up the responsibility of cycling. Finally, Shakti relents and another contestant takes her place. Tired and exhausted, Shraddha is unable to take a single step and collapses. The other contestants rush to her aid and get her on her feet again.
Captain nominations for the next week are announced. The contestants are asked whether they would like to elect a new captain for the coming week or if they want Shakti to continue in this role for the next week as well. All the female contestants are asked to vote and they get together to take the decision.


Meanwhile Shraddha tries to approach Mahek for a discussion during the weekly task, but receives a nasty comeback as Mahek misinterprets it to be an oncoming fight. Shraddha tells Mahek that she doesn’t need to fight with her to gain popularity and that she was just looking to have a normal conversation with her, but in private.


After cycling for days, for the weekly task, the contestants finally reach Mumbai. To commemorate the city that is most famous for being the home of Bollywood, the female contestants are made to dress and dance like Bollywood’s favourite item girls. Mahek, Pooja Misrra, Shraddha and Raageshwari decide to showcase their dancing skills – with Mahek choosing to dance to Mallika Sherawat’s song, Jalebi bai.

Day 5: While all the housemates have been cycling over the night, Pooja Misra who has also contributed to the task is asked by the captain to join in again when she is resting in the morning. Pooja claims that she is unwell & snaps at the captain. This in turn gets all the housemates furious and is upset with Pooja Misra’s behaviour.

After continuously cycling day and night for the weekly task, the housemates reach their final destination – Chennai. Here the contestants are told to appoint one contestant as the choreographer. The choreographer has to pick 6 dancers who will dance to a Tamil song. Lakshmi is chosen as the choreographer by the housemates. The other contestants, however, cannot go scot-free. They were required to memorize and sing the Tamil song while the dancers performed to it.

Bigg Boss calls Shonali into the confession room & offers some sweet treats in order to celebrate Dusshera. Along with the sweets, BB hands over a letter for the housemates. In which he mentions that a board has been provided for the housemates to prepare a budget for the coming week. Since the housemates completed the task successfully, BB awards them 3000 points for their luxury budget. While the housemates are deciding what all they want from their allotted budget, the screen suddenly flashes the option for Pooja Misra’s luggage which is worth 3000 points.

While Laxmi feels that Pooja Misra’s bag needs to be given to her, Pooja Bedi tells everyone that Pooja Misra has not been fulfilling her commitment towards the task or responsibilities in the house. Pooja Misra retaliates and lashes out at Pooja Bedi for being insensitive towards her. She yells at Lakshmi too and stomps out of the living room. Shraddha Sharma later approaches Pooja Misra, who adds that she does not wish to talk to ‘the thing’ referring to Lakshmi Tripathi.

A considerate Sonika feels bad for Pooja and tries to console her. Mandeep offers food for Pooja in order to make her feel better. Post which Pooja realizes her mistake & tries to portray a genuine confession.

BIGG BOSS 5: Nihita Biswas is first to be eliminated




Alleged serial killer Charles Sobhraj’s wife- who is also the youngest contestant in the house – is asked to leave

NIhita Biswas, the 23-year-old Nepali contestant on Bigg Boss 5, will be eliminated in tonight’s episode. Her entry had been much-talked about since she is the wife of the serial killer Charles Sobhraj – even though everyone in the house picked on her for marrying a criminal. Nihita spent a lot of her time in the house defending her husband and saying he was wrongly convicted. However, she slowly began to adapt to the house rules and her fellow contestants. Captain Shakti Kapoor nicknamed her chutki as she talked a lot. Nihita got along well with the Afghan beauty Vida Samadzai and were each others’ support. She helped Shraddha Sharma and Gulabo in washing utensils. Nihita also had a small tiff with Shraddha on her participation in the household chores and task. But with the intervention of other housemates the argument was put to an end and the two got along well.


Nihita was also the centre of another controversy when on the first day of the competition, Mandeep Belvi asked her if she had consummated her marriage yet. While Nihita tried to evade the question, her mother in Nepal was shocked and made that very clear to the media.


The Baap of all reality shows, Bigg Boss 5, started on a rather controversial note with Shakti Kapoor getting house-arrested with thirteen beautiful women. Nihita Biswas and Pooja Missra were the first ones to be nominated for elimination.



While Pooja got lucky, Nihita Biswas, wife of the infamous bikini killer Charles Sobhraj, was the first one to be evicted from the Bigg Boss house on Saturday.

Nihita, in the first week itself, had a catfight with fellow contestant Shraddha Sharma. Both the ladies were assigned the job of cleaning the dishes together. But, Nihita felt that Shraddha was not doing the work properly. This led to an argument between the two and other inmates had to intervene to stop it. Nihita was later seen shedding tears over the issue. Her eviction hasn't come as a surprise to anyone.

Post that episode, however, the lady maintained her composure and was seen participating in every household activity. Pooja Missra, the tantrum queen, however has had quite a number of verbal arguments with Pooja Bedi, Laxmi Narayan and Shakti Kapoor.

Guess Pooja's tantrums got her all the eyeballs and Nihita's mercy plea was clearly rejected by the audience. What's rather interesting is the fact that right before her elimination, Bigg Boss asked Nihita to choose an inmate to go to the inhouse jail and Nihita, without much deliberation chose Pooja Bedi, as she thought that Pooja had the patience to spend time in the jail.
