Default TOP 10 Negatives and Positives of The HomePod, New iPad

Apple hosted their annual WWDC keynote last night and the company announced some major updates that are going to be coming to iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, Apple Watches and more. There were many rumours surrounding this year's event and most of them have come true. We expected Apple to enter the home assistant game and they did not disappoint us with the brand new ‘HomePod'. The device is going to compete directly with Amazon's Alexa and Google's Assistant.

We dubbed it the Siri speaker and it turns out that Apple just shut everyone up with the HomePod. The device has capabilities to detect the dimensions of a room and tune the sound to fill the room with better and high-quality sound. The speaker also has support for Apple Music and will play music in tandem with the new “Musicologist” feature. Apart from playing music, it can even give you more information about the producer of the song or which album the track is from.
The device will be available in two colours i.e. black and white and it will be priced at $349 (Approximately INR 23,000). However, we will not be seeing the device anytime soon as it is slated to release in the US, UK and Australia and will be ready to ship in December.

iOS 11 comes with updated features and better Siri Functionality
iOS 11 has more aesthetic and social updates rather anything groundbreaking that would change the entire framework of iOS devices. Apple has improved speech recognition for Siri and added the ability to help translate languages.

iOS 11 is also big on learning i.e. it will suggest actions based on your activity on the iPhone or iPad. The new software update also synchronises conversations with iCloud and can be managed by any device that uses the same iCloud account.

iOS 11 has also improved the camera on the iPhone where it will be able to take better low-light images and has also added the ability to edit live photos to get the perfect still image. The control center has also gotten a facelift which does not look aesthetically appealing but removes the clutter problem we faced in iOS 10.
iOS 11 will also recognise a user when he/she is driving and will switch off all notifications in order to keep the driver's eyes on the road. This mode can be turned off in case you are in the back seat and can also be customised to receive notifications from your favourite contacts.

Augmented Reality

Apple is going big on AR and their new kit proves that augmented reality is going to be the company's focus in the years to come. The ARKIT will let developers build apps that will take advantage of AR features. In the demo, it was detailed that it will help in tracking motion, ambient lighting and many other features. Apple showed off AR capabilities that were impressive and it remains to be seen how it will be implemented on future phones. It will work with the current generation of iPhones but it will be interesting to see how it functions with a new iPhone that will have new arrays and a new camera module.

A New 10.5-Inch iPad

The iPad Pro will now be offered in three different sizes and Apple has bumped up their smallest iPad with a 10.5-inch display. The display uses ‘ProMotion' which doubles the refresh rate to 120Hz, ideal for editing videos and playing games on a portable device. It will have a 12-megapixel camera and a 7-megapixel selfie camera. It supports USB 3.0 and also has fast charging which might translate into the iPhone 8 as well.

The iPad will launch for $649 ( Approximately INR 42,000) and will have 64GB as internal storage. The iPad will start shipping in the US next week and will be sold in India later this month.
