Australia wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist was purchased by Deccan Chargers for $700,000.
The wicketkeeper-batsman, who retired from international cricket last year, has been named as the Deccan Chargers captain for this season after the team's dismal showing last year that saw them finish bottom.

Brendon McCullum (left) explosive wicketkeeper-batsman from New Zealand was taken by Kolkata Knight Riders for $7,00,000 after his bid started at $1,75,000.
His Sri Lankan counterpart Kumar Sangakkara also fetched a high price of $700,000 in the inaugural edition. He was bought by the Mohali franchise.

South Africa's Albie Morkel (left) was snapped up by Chennai for $6,75,000.
New Zealand all-rounder Jacob Oram (centre) was also bought by Chennai Super Kings for $6,75,000 against his base price of $2,00,000 in 2008, while in the same year, Pakistan's hard-hitting batsman Shahid Afridi also raked in the moolah after being pouched by Deccan Chargers for $6,75,000.
India discard Mohammad Kaif was purchased by Jaipur for $6,75,000 after starting at $ 1,25,000.

Little-known South African Tyron Henderson, yet to play Tests and ODIs, was snapped up by defending champions Rajasthan Royals for a mammoth $650,000 after starting with a base price of $100,000.
