Amidst a lot of celebration and pomp, Maharashtra won the Zee Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Mega Challenge…




The 1000th episode of Zee Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Mega Challenge was a grand celebration.

It was a Musical night with all the singing galore at one place. The evening was studded with star presence. Sonu Nigam, Shaan, Aditya Narayan, Kunal Ganjawala, Udit Narayan, Hard Kaur, Penaz, Bappi Lahiri, Jatin- Lalit, Abhijit Bhattacharya and thestar kids Afsha Musani and Dhairya too joined the bandwagon.

The whole competition was between two states Maharashtra and West Bengal and finally the winner was declared as Maharashtra. West Bengal lost the battle due to a single point. The judges of this show were Sonu Nigam, Laxmikanth of Pyareral Duo and Sudesh Wadkar. The Sa Re Ga Ma Pa singing Series winner Abhigyaan Das was awarded with a Maruti car and the award was presented by Salim Suleiman.

The major attraction of the night was the performance of the father son due- Aditya and Udit Narayan. It was the first ever time that both the son and the father shared the same stage.
Also, Sonu Nigam who had hosted the show for many years presented trophies to the new faces of the show- Afsha Musani and Dhairya Sorecha.

All in all, it was a perfect way to celebrate 1000 years of celebrating musical excellence.

Maharashtra wins Mega Challenge amidst a glittering show





Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2009 winner, Vaishali Made has done it again,snatched victory away from Abhijeet Ghoshal of West Bengal. The Mega Challenge finale which had Maharashtra locking horns with West Bengal was hosted by Sonu Niigaam, Shaan, Aditya Narayan and Afsha-Dhairya.


The grand finale was judged by veteran music compser Anandji, Suresh Wadkar and Sonu Niigaam. Abhigyan Das from West Bengal was declared as the Super Singer of the series. He walked away with a brand new Maruti Estilo.


The finale coincided with the completion of 1000 episodes of Zee’s Sa Re Ga Ma and was held at a glittering event in Mumbai. Two idiots (third idiot Aamir Khan was missing from the action) R Madhavan and Sharman Joshi were present along with director Raju Hirani and producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Also present were Kavita Krishnamurthy, Mahalakshmi Iyer, Bappi Lahiri, Abhijeet, Leslie Lewis. Kailash Kher and Kunal Ganjawalla rocked the evening with their incredible performances. The highlight of the finale was the coming together of the talented father-son duo - Udit and Aditya Narayan in an enthralling performance.


Adding to the excitement was the Indo–western fusion put together by Dance India Dance choreographer Terrence Lewis. But the finale was not just limited to the talent of the nation as storm, an internationally acclaimed choreographer from Germany,displayed his s****s at hip-hop, popping n breaking while African dancer, Hari Das, performed international stunts effortlessly.


Dance India Dance, season 2 will replace Mega Challenge starting December 18 at 9:30 pm.


Zee TV will air the finale of Mega Challenge tonight, at 8 pm.
