Raazi, Gully Boy, Brahmastra: Alia Bhatt’s film slate proves she is the queen of versatility

Looking at her upcoming films, we are sure that Alia Bhatt will enjoy a blockbuster year at the box office

Alia Bhatt is undoubtedly the best from the current lot of actresses. From her first film, Student Of The Year, to her latest hit, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, the actress won million hearts with her memorable performances. In her acting career of just over a half decade, the 24-year old is enjoying a huge fan base not only in India but across the globe. Her powerful performance in Udta Punjab and Highway is still fresh in our minds. Looking at her upcoming films, we are sure that Alia Bhatt will enjoy a blockbuster year at the box office.

Raazi – May 11, 2018

Raazi is based on Harinder Sikka’s best-selling novel, Calling Sehmat, and is directed by Meghna Gulzar, who previously at the helm of Talvar. Alia plays the central character of Sehmat, a Kashmiri woman who marries a Pakistani officer with the intention to source out intelligence details and pass them to Indian forces. Vicky Kaushal is essaying the role of the Pakistani officer. Looking at the posters of the film, we must say that Alia Bhatt is all set blow our mind with her class act. Gully Boy – February 14, 2019

A few days ago, the makers of Gully Boy released the first look of the film, which created a lot of buzz. The Zoya Akhtar directorial is based on the life of popular rappers – Divine and Naezy, and chronicles their journey towards fame. Given the interesting plot and subject, we can’t wait to watch the amazing chemistry between Ranveer and Alia translate on the silver screen.

Brahmastra – August 15, 2019

The superhero film will mark a collaboration between Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. Brahmastra is expected to be the first part of the trilogy and also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy in key roles. The film is directed by Ayan Mukerji, who has previously directed films like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Wake Up Sid.

THIS television actor will play villain in Ranbir Kapoor - Alia Bhatt's Brahmastra

Brahmastra is set to hit the screens on August 15, 2019


Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra has grabbed all the attention from the movie buffs thanks to its fresh star cast and unconventional plot. Earlier, we were the first one to tell you that Mouni Roy will play the lead villain in Brahmastra. We also told you that the makers of the film have planned to go an extra mile to give Mouni Roy a spine-chilling look with the help of VFX. Now to accompany Mouni, another television actor is making big Bollywood debut and will play a negative character in the superhero film.


We are talking about television actor cum wrestler Saurav Gurjar, who has portrayed the character of Bheem in Mahabharata. The actor said that the story of Brahmastra has set in modern India but the energies, powers and wisdom will remind you of ancient India. The film also features Amitabh Bachchan in a key role where he is apparently portraying the character of a Jini in it. The film is directed by Ayan Mukerji and marks his third collaboration with Ranbir Kapoor after Wake Up Sid and his biggest grosser Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Interestingly all three films are produced by Karan Johar under his banner Dharma Productions. The budget of Brahmastra is Rs 100 crore and is the first of the trilogy. It is set to hit the screens on August 15, 2019, during the Independence day weekend. On the work front Ranbir Kapoor will be next seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s Dutt biopic which is expected to release on June 29. On the other hand, Alia Bhatt will be seen in a spy avatar in Meghna Gulzar’s Raazi which is slated to hit the screens on May 11 this year.
