HP Slate

Announced in early 2010, HP is yet to officially launch its much awaited tablet device. While HP is silent about the full specifications of the HP Slate some details had leaked out. Though earlier believed to be a Windows 7 device, HP's acquisition of Palm has changed the equations and the Slate could have the webOS instead.

MSI Wind-Pad 100

Revealed at Computex Taipei in May 2010, the MSI Wind-Pad tablets will try to replicate the success of the MSI Wind netbooks. The MSI Wind-Pad 100 tablet is expected to start shipping by the end of the year, but some reports suggest that sales may be pushed back to early 2011.

Lenovo LePad


Lenovo will start its tablet venture with the Chinese market when it launches its LePad tablet PC later this year. What makes Lenovo's tablet a little different from the other tablets is that it comes with a hybrid option that comes with a separate keyboard. The LePad's product specifications is scarce.

Notion Ink Adam

An Indian tablet that looks more promising than the OlivePad. Developed by Bangalore-based Notion Ink Design Labs, the Adam is easily the best looking tablet we have come across. First announced back in December 2009, the official launch seems to still be a while away.

Sakshat tablet

It seems that this time around India's ultra-low cost computing device is for real. The Rs 1500 Sakshat tablet initiative by the government of India promises to go where Nicholas Negroponte OLPC project couldn't. The device is still in a prototype stage and detailed specifications are not available. According to news reports HCL will help manufacture the device and it'll be ready by January 2011 and the students, for whom the device is meant for, will get theirs by the second half of 2011.
