Default TOP 10 Major Changes in Big Brother 2018

Big Brother 2018 start date, changes and what to expect from new series

Big Brother 2018 air date and housemates

Big Brother 2018 will be back on Channel 5 but what can we expect from the show?

The new series could well be the last ever to air on UK TV. The current contract between Channel 5 and programme makers Endemol expires at the end of the year.

But when will Big Brother 2018 be on TV and what's in store for the summer? Here's all the rumours so far...

Big changes for Big Brother

Amid ongoing speculation over the show's future, the upcoming 'civilian' series is set for a major overhaul.
Bit On The Side host Rylan Clark-Neal confirmed that there "are changes coming", and suggested the show could go back to basics. Will it once again be a real social experiment?

The former CBB winner explained: “I think it’s time to make Big Brother what it was.
“I’ve always had one* *million per cent faith in the format and that it can be the greatest show on telly.”
While exact plans for summer's Big Brother may be unconfirmed, Peter Salmon - Big Brother programme maker Endemol's Chief Creative Officer - was quoted as saying that Big Brother would definitely be getting a face lift in 2018.

"Big Brother has got to last. You have to roll your sleeves up and renew it for a different generation," he said.

As part of the revamps, Paul Osborne is joining as creative director.
He was previously series editor and executive producer on Big Brother between 2005 and 2008 when it aired on Channel 4.

Big Brother makers Endemol Shine UK confirmed: “As with any long-running series, creative leadership changes regularly. It’s great to have such an experienced and brilliant creative director working on the summer series.”

Big Brother auditions

Auditions for Big Brother 2018 are currently open online. You need to be over 18 by July 31 and have the right to reside in the UK.

Big Brother 2018 start date

Big Brother typically launches in June on Channel 5, although 2015's series did start much earlier at the beginning of May.

Right now, Channel 5 have only said Big Brother will air in the "summer".

Both Emma Willis and Rylan Clark-Neal will return to host the main show and spin-off respectively.
