Wage Types

In this section, you can define wage types. You can specify their reactions and characteristics when employee data is maintained. These settings have no effect of any kind on the reactions of wage types for payroll.

Create wage type catalog

In this step, you create your own wage types for the infotype Recurring Payments/Deductions (0014) by copying the model wage types in the standard system.

These copies are the wage types that you can use in further processing. You can also modify these copies to suit your requirements. Only wage types for use in the infotype Recurring Payments/Deductions (0014) are proposed in this step.

Note
  • For information on setting up customer wage types using prototypes or by copying the wage type catalogs in the standard R/3 system, see the steps " Create wage types using wage type catalog" and " Creating wage types using prototypes".
  • Please note that the copies of model wage types have the same characteristics as the model wage types with regard to processing in dialog as well as in payroll. You can check, and if necessary, change the characteristics of your wage types in the subsequent steps.

Caution
Only use the name range reserved for your customer wage types (wage types that begin with a number). Do not copy wage types to the area reserved for SAP model wage types (those that begin with a letter or a symbol).

Activities
Now create your copy wage types for the infotype Recurring Payments/Deductions (0014) using the steps
  • Copy wage type catalog
  • Create prototype wage types
For more detailed information on the copy procedure, choose Help => Extended help.
