Default Last Episode of #NaaginFinale 2019

So, this is it. The third season of Naagin is all set to come to a close where the first part of the finale aired this evening. The longest season so far in the franchise, even though it lacked the continuity factor of Mouni Roy and Adaa Khan reprising their roles, it made up with sensational actors like Surbhi Jyoti, Anita Hassanandani and Karishma Tanna taking over. With over 104 episodes this season, it did have a rather intriguing storyline till the end and the most epic way to end things.

Like the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Rohit Shetty’s cop universe, Ekta Kapoor decided to go all out with the finale of this season where it is a reunion of all the important characters from the previous two seasons. So, how did this star-studded finale of Naagin 3 fare and what were the highs and lows? Let us find out

There’s Just Something About Mouni Roy

Taking nothing away from Surbhi and Anita’s performances as naagins in this season, there is just something about Mouni Roy as Naagin which makes you love her instantly and how she makes even the most preposterous things look believable. In her return as Shivangi, the mahanaagrani, she continued to prove why she was the first and probably the best choice as Naagin. It was an intended step to treat the fans with Mouni’s return and neither do the writers nor does Mouni disappoint.

The Comical Villains
As dimwitted as the characters of Yamini (Sudha Chandran) and Sumitra (Rakhshanda Khan) are presented as, after a point of time, you just give in only laughing at their sheer stupidity. There are moments where you feel that these are the leading villains of the show and apart from some comical moments, they are here to do villainous things but the finale displays the comical aspect of these two characters rather well. If you are trying to reason with their actions, you will be frustrated. Instead, just give in and enjoy their foolishness and how fine actresses Sudha and Rakhshanda portray them.

Rocky and Ritik Couldn’t Rock It
While the returns of Shivangi and Sesha (Adaa Khan) was instantly awaited, that cannot be said for Rocky (Karanvir Bohra) and Ritik’s (Arjun Bijlani) return. Of course, they did their job of bringing in the nostalgia factor into the frame but even though their characters were given a couple of shocking moments, Rocky and Ritik were merely present there when all hell is going to break loose.

Nostalgia Is Worth It
As mentioned a couple of times earlier in this piece, the nostalgia factor that was intended in the show worked wonders indeed. Sudha, Mouni, Arjun, Karanvir and Adaa coming back on the finale and even small montages of flashes from the previous couple of seasons was a total delight.

The Twist to The Unexpected Character
One would easily assume Shraavni (Surbhi Jyoti) or Shivangi (Mouni Roy) to have the mega moment right away but the twist awarded to Anita’s character of Vishakha in how steals the page from the book and frees Bela in the smartest manner was a good plot twist to witness.

Taking A Dig At Themselves
I couldn’t stop laughing and admiring the dig that the show and a couple of characters took at themselves during the finale. When Sumitra remarks ‘overacting ki dukaan’ to Bela and Vishaka’s conversation, Yamini immediately drops in to say ‘arre nahi, vo toh main hu, ye to naagin aisi hi hoti hai.’ This was further followed by Bela telling, ‘haa, hum naagin hoti hi thodi overdramatic hai.’ All of this was so true and so hysterical at the same time.

The End Of An Era
We are more than certain how Naagin will certainly have a season 4, rumours about which have already surfaced so far. But it is the end of an era in a manner in how we think Shivangi (Mouni Roy) and the likes of others may not return for the fourth season. Then again, we just feel that and knowing Ekta Kapoor’s prowess of managing to make even unbelievable storylines and ideas make sense to the fans of the show, we don’t rule that out entirely. For now, it is all over indeed and in a rather satisfying manner too.

After berating the show constantly for the two seasons previously, I realized how the show and Ekta Kapoor continues to prove you wrong again and again with the numbers and sheer popularity. Of course, I still do not like such shows at all and probably never will but I respect and admire the choice of millions who love the show nevertheless.
How did you like the finale? Leave in your comments below…
