Default Spoilers/ Tasks - The Apprentice 2017

The Apprentice 2017 spoilers: First task begins with a big surprise | The Apprentice 2017

The Apprentice 2017 begins tonight on BBC One with the first task from the brand series.

The search for Lord Sugar’s next business partner has begun, and it's the most exciting series yet. Having already invested 1.5m of his own money in six thriving businesses, Lord Sugar is ready to find his next partner.

Over the next 12 weeks he’ll whittle down a new batch of 18 hopeful candidates until only one remains.

Ready to fight for his funding, the aspiring entrepreneurs are summoned to the boardroom for the first time. Lord Sugar introduces this year’s candidates to his trusted aides, Baroness Karren Brady and Claude Littner, and brings in a surprise for the hopeful candidates.
Lord Sugar brings winners from previous series into the boardroom – Alana Spencer, Ricky Martin, Mark Wright, Leah Totton and Tom Pellereau.

Under the watchful eye of Claude Littner and Karren Brady, the candidates are split into men and women and sent off on their first task.
The aim is simple: To make and sell as many burgers as possible.

But first the usual squabble over team names: Eventually the girls decide on the team name Graphene, and the boys settle with Vitality.
The boys team, a lack of direction and strategy sees them with hardly any customers at their market as they miss the lunchtime rush, while the girls try to manage conflict and clashing personalities.

Elizabeth reflects on her personality: “I hope that my temper doesn’t come out – I’ve got size 10 feet and they kick ****”
Seeking to maximise sales, both teams pounds the pavements, one targeting Canary Wharf and the other relocating to Shoreditch, in the hope of a rise in sales after a poor start.

In the boardroom, Lord Sugar reports back the results and the candidates are left in no doubt as to just how unforgiving the process is, as someone is the first to hear the dreaded words, “You’re Fired!”.

Watch the task and find out who was fired when The Apprentice 2017 begins tonight, Wednesday 4th October, 9PM on BBC One and BBC One HD

Following the show, you can tune in to Rhod Gilbert on You’re Fired! on BBC Two at 10pm alongside guests Holly Walsh – comedian, Matt Edmondson – TV & Radio presenter and Michael Souter – publisher, for a fresh and unique take on the highlights of The Apprentice as well as the first exclusive interview with the fired candidate.
