 Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro In this dark satire on the wide-spread corruption in Indian politics and the media industry, Naseeruddin Shah and Ravi Baswani kicked up a storm of laughter with their incredible comic timing. This film is also rated as one of the Top 25 must-see Bollywood films. Oh yes, Satish Shah was dead brilliant as he played a corpse throughout the film.

 Chashme Buddoor This romantic comedy that dwells on a love triangle, once again saw good performances by the star cast that included Deepti Naval, Rakesh Dedi and Farooq Sheikh. The film was directed by Sai Paranjpye.

 Khatta Meetha Directed by Basu Chatterjee, Khatta Meetha saw veteran actors Utpal Dutt and Pearl Padamsee come together on screen as an elderly couple with their separate entourage of kids. New found situations and surroundings give rise to comic situations with hilarious after-effects.

 Katha A slice from real life, this gem from Sai Paranjpe deals with the perennial problem of show-offs walking away with all the credit, while the meek end up with nothing, in spite of the hard work. Naseeruddin Shah plays a smart aleck and Farooq Sheikh his innocent friend. Dipti Naval is the simple neighbourhood girl coveted by both the guys. Absolutely delightful.
