Anushka Sharma & PV Sindhu Features in Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia List




A proud moment for Indians! Bollywood’s iconic diva Anushka Sharma and shuttler PV Sindhu has been featured in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2018 list. The list includes innovators and disruptors who are reshaping their industries and changing Asia for the better. Anushka Sharma, 29, is one of Indian film industry’s highest-paid actresses and the only Bollywood actor to feature in Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2018 list.

Anushka made her debut in 2008 film ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ and bagged Filmfare award for Best Actress. She has since acted in movies like ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’, ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’, ‘PK’, ‘Bombay Velvet’, ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’, ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ and ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’. Hyderabad-born Badminton World Champion PV Sindhu, 22 is the first Indian woman to win an Olympic Silver Medal and recently achieved a career-best ranking of World No 2. She clinched titles at Syed Modi GPG, India Open, Korea Open, besides finishing second at World championship, Hong Kong Open and Dubai Super Series Finals. Apart from Anushka and PV Sindhu, several other Indians were also recognised for their significant contribution. Here is the list:

* 26-year-old Bobble Keyboard’s co-founder Ankit Prasad
* 28-year-old Rahul Gayam, CTO of Gayam Motor Works, creates electric auto-rickshaws and bikes for the Indian market
* 26-year-old Bala Sarda, the founder and CEO of Vahdam Teas, he has raised $2 million in funding to operate a direct-to-consumer business
* 19-year-old Royal, the titular Maharaja of Jaipur, Padmanabh Singh, an avid sportsman, he captained the first Indian polo team to head to England in 20 years also the youngest Indian member of a World Cup polo team and the youngest ever winner of the Indian Open Polo Cup.
* Shriyans Bhandari and Ramesh Dhami (23 and 22 respectively), are championing the country’s massive footwear shortage, recycling discarded shoes into wearable footwear for children in need.
* 25-year-old Ria Sharma of Make Love Not Scars was inspired after making a documentary about acid attack survivors, set up a rehabilitation centre for Indian acid attack survivors, the UN Goalkeepers Global Goals Award winner for 2017
* 23-year-old Suhani Jalota founded the Myna Mahila Foundation along with three women from slum communities in Mumbai. Helping provide impoverished women with menstrual hygiene products and employment opportunities for young female entrepreneurs, the Duke-educated social entrepreneur won the 2017 Queen’s Young Leader Award for her work.
* 26-year-old Priya Prakash’s HealthSetGo is busy training health professionals and teachers to help students across the country
* 28-year-old founder of Differniture, Aakriti Kumar, has been working on design sustainability using natural resources to create responsible, zero-waste, chemical-free home furniture
