Step 10:






Put 1/4 teaspoon of the almonds onto half of the cookies.

Bake at 375� for six to seven minutes, until the edges are golden brown and the tops are just starting to dry. Then let them cool.

If you want, you can stop right there. These sugar cookies come out both tender and crispy and I like them the way they are. If you really want some cavities though:

Meanwhile, beat the powdered sugar into the ganache until creamy and smooth. If you tilt the bowl and the filling stays put, it's done.

Spread a little filling onto the backside of a no-nut cookie and put a cookie with nuts on top.
