Creative Ways to Use Twitter For Link Building

ost often the success of a business is built on the foundation of creativity. For a web business there is a wealth of marketing tools out there just waiting to be used. The key is to use them with as much creativity as possible, and one of those tools that this can be done with is Twitter.  Using Twitter for Link Building How Do Google and Twitter Pair Up? Google certainly sets the trend and the standards when it comes to the value of links. So based on this its probably safe to say that if you think like Google thinks, then you may very well be on your way success with your link building strategy. So what does Google think about twitter links? They obviously find them impressive as they are incorporating tweets in real time search results. Google considers this to be important because people want to be kept abreast of what is going on "in the now" in their areas of interest. Google aims to please, so now with real time web, surfers have current information available to them. What all of this means for you and your SEO opportunities is simple. The more links you can get from twitter the better, but more importantly is the more links you can get the better on a regular basis. In other words, if Google is going to stay current, then use it to your advantage and stay current with them. Google uses twitter to see if people are talking about your brand and if so they might appreciate your site more then brands that are not being spoken about on twitter. Which is Better Twitter Quantity or Twitter Quality? This is a double edged sword do you want tons of links from tons of different people, or do you want tons of links from a few people? In the case of SEO link building and utilizing twitter to assist you the answer is simple. You want tons of links from tons of people. Why? Simply because the more unique links you have the better it looks to Google. In addition you’ll attract a much higher volume of traffic because of the diversity of the links. Whereas yes you may have tons of links from a few people but the chances are there will be much less impact on your SEO that way. Use What Twitter Power you Have Again this comes down to creativity. Look at what your site has and make it work for you. For example, let's assume you own a user generated website and you have 2000 people using your site. If you were to find a way to encourage these users all to share one piece of common content from your site on twitter, how many links would be coming back to your site each month? That's right 2000 links. That should be enough of an incentive to keep you going to constantly increase this number. Why not utilize what you have? Twitter Explosion Just to give you one example of how I put creativity to work in SEO, I would have to use the example of one success pertaining to a client of mine. This client operated a very successful marketplace with in excess of 4,000 freelancers. I felt there was a golden opportunity here for link building. I suggested that the site owner will allow the freelancers to easily post a tweet every time they completed a project. The freelancers loved the idea as it was one more way for them to advertise their services. It resulted in tons of inbound links back to my client's site. The end result? His SEO strengthened enormously and this brought in thousands of new monthly visitors. Today he's ranked very well for many competitive keywords. All of this with just a little bit of SEO creativity.
