South Africa's AB de Villiers has won the ODI Player of the Year award. During the voting period, de Villiers played 16 ODIs and scored 855 runs at an average of 71.25 and at a rate of 103.38 runs per 100 balls faced. In that time he hit four 50s and four centuries making sure he led his team from the front when it came to batting.

New Zealand opening batsman Brendon McCullum has won the ICC Twenty20 International Performance of the Year.

On 28 February 2010, during the Black Caps' Twenty20 International match against Australia at Christchurch, McCullum smashed 116 not out off 56 balls, in a performance that included 12 fours and eight sixes. He then helped his side to victory when the match went down to a one-over eliminator to decide the result.

Australia captain Ricky Ponting is named captain of the ICC World ODI Team of the Year in 2009. Members of the Team are: Sachin Tendulkar (Ind), Shane Watson (Aus), Michael Hussey (Aus), AB de Villiers (SA), Paul Collingwood (Eng), Ricky Ponting (Aus, captain), MS Dhoni (Ind, wicketkeeper), Daniel Vettori (NZ), Stuart Broad (Eng), Doug Bollinger (Aus), Ryan Harris (Aus).

New Zealand cricket team was named as the recipients of the Spirit of Cricket Award. New Zealand has won this award and the second year in a row. It is presented to the team which, in the opinion of the Emirates Elite Panels of ICC Umpires and Match Referees and the 10 Full Member captains, has best conducted itself on the field within the spirit of the game.

Umpire Aleem Dar has won the David Shepherd Trophy for the second time after being named ICC Umpire of the Year.

Dar, who is 42 and from Pakistan, was voted to this award by the 10 Full Member captains as well as the eight-man Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees, based on his decision statistics and officiating s****s over the past 12 months.
