 Deglam avatar Deepika Padukone plays the main character of Kalpana Dutta, a freedom fighter, a real life character. Hence She will be seen largely without make up and can be seen in cotton sarees.

 Dhoti-clad The film features 59 teenagers and they all had to wear dhoti along with Abhishek Bachchan for the movie. A three days workshop was organised on the sets to teach the youngsters to d**** a dhoti and also to be comfortable in it.
