Default Best of 2017 - top 10 thrillers

#BestOf2017: 5 THRILLERS that kept us at the edge of our seats!

As I have time and again pointed out, 2017 saw the television industry take a huge leap of faith when it came to content. And that leap of faith paid off very well as the audience became more open to content other than quintessential saas-bahu sagas.

Beginning that revolution was none other than Sony TV's breakout show, Beyhadh. Making dark thrillers the obvious option for many, Beyhadh broke stereotypes and it's success has paved way for many to be more brave than ever.

Evidently, our Best Of 2017 feature today, is about thriller and mystery driven shows that television saw coming this year.

Ayushman Bhava

The certain underdog in this list, Ayushman Bhava had little left for the viewers to anticipate on what they should actually expect when the show goes on-air. A few episodes down, the next thing we know, it literally has a jaw-dropping revelation every 30 minutes that will leave you mystified. Many debate how post leap, the show has lost it's touch, but it continues to have it's loyal audience hooked on to it.

Koi Laut Ke Aaya Hai

Koi Laut Ke Aaya Hai marked the television comeback of two much loved actors of the industry- Shoaib Ibrahim (after Sasural Simar Ka) and Surbhi Jyoti (after Qubool Hai) in lead roles. Though the drama was first presented as a reincarnation and revenge saga, the thrill eventually began when the makers completely shocked their audience with n number of revelations. The best part about the show was how the makers managed to stick to their plan of including mystery so much that the audience were left guessing and questioning each and every character until the last episode of the show.

Ishq Mein Marjawan

Ishq Mein Marjawan was touted to be a thriller and the same was evidently conveyed in the promos of the show. In fact, the promos were deliberately released in a confusing manner to raise the hype of the show. The show traces the journey of Deep (Arjun Bijlani) and a serial ****er Tara (Aalisha Panwar), where Deep brings in Aarohi (Aalisha Panwar in a double role) so that he can trap her and get his lady love Tara out of this ****** mess.

Haasil

Haasil captures the story of three headstrong individuals Ranvir (Zayed Khan), Kabir (Vatsal Sheth) and Aanchal (Nikita Dutta), who get entangled in a weird love triangle. With all the three leads having varied shades to their characters, the show has uptil now managed to keep up the pace and thrill that the audience was expecting. And of course, Haasil marks Zayed Khan's debut on Television making it yet another reason to watch it.

Ek Deewaana Tha

This show brought back two of the much loved actors back on our TV screens - Vikram Singh Chauhan as Vyom and Namik Paul as Shiv. Also, actress Donal Bisht as Sharanya, made her full-fledged debut as the female lead with this supernatural thriller. The story has Shiv (a spirit) hell bent on taking revenge from Sharanya for something that she did before she lost her memory and for that, Shiv is willing to go to any lengths which includes hurting Sharanya's near and dear ones, where Vyom is her constant saviour and loves her unconditionally.

These were the notable thrillers and mystery dramas that caught out attention this year. Did we leave out any other thrillers? Let us know in the comments section below.
