Default January 2018 - Television ROUND-UP (ENTRIES, EXITS, REPLACEMENTS, ON-AIR, OFF-AIR...



With an upheaval year that 2017 was, one expected a lot from January 2018. But alas, the month only let us down.
Here's all that took place this month.
The year started out on a tragic note for quite a few industry folks.



The industry lost veteran actress Charu Rohatgi to a cardiac arrest, Ratan Rajput's father passed away due to prolonged illness, Paanch actor Shrey Pareek lost his grandfather and last but not the least, Cinevistaas Studios at Kanjurmarg was gutted in fire.
Coming back to all that happened in the entire month -
ENTRIES

Suchita Trivedi and Abhinav Kohli entered Ishq Mein Marjawan, where they are playing antagonist, Tara's (Aalisha Panwar) parents. Actor Liliput entered Mahakaali: Anth Hi Aarambh Hai as Apasmar, Kishwer Merchanttt entered Rishta Likhenge Hum Naya as her real life husband, Suyyash Rai's character- Abhay's sister. Monica Sharma took up the place of the new female lead in Sasural Simar Ka, Kuch Rang...'s Prerna Panwar entered Savitri Devi College and Hospital as the third wheel between Veer (Varun Kapoor) and Saanchi's (Swarda Thigale) relationship and Adhvik Mahajan re-entered Meri Durga.
EXITS

Priyanka Udhwani quit Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai as she felt that her character had nothing to do. Bhootu actors Kinshuk Mahajan and Sana Amin Sheikh exited the show leading to the show's impending revamp.
REPLACEMENTS:

Even before the web series Better Half was to go on-air, the makers replaced the original lead Sukant Goel with Karan V Grover. Pyumori Mehta was replaced by actress Usha Bachani owing to the former's ill health. Another replacement that occured because of date clashes was that of Rithvik Dhanjani stepping down as the host of Super Dancer Chapter 2 and making way for Jay Bhanushali, Waaris actress Farnaaz Shetty stepped into the shoes of Neha Saxena in And TV's Siddhi Vinayak, but as per reports, Neha's exit is a temporary one. And lastly, Sajid Khan also replaced Anurag Basu as the judge of Super Dancer Chapter 2 temporarily.
ON-AIR

Sony TV's magnum opus Prithvi Vallabh, Colors' horror-comedy Belan Wali Bahu and singing reality show Rising Star 2, Zee TV's mature drama Aapke Aa Jaane Se went on-air this month.

OFF-AIR

The country's biggest reality show Colors' Bigg Boss Season 11 and Zee TV's Dil Dhoondta Hai bid good bye to the audience.
LINK-UPS

Vishkanya fame Aishwarya Khare was rumoured to be dating her Saam Daam Dand Bhed director, Hemant Prabhu but she denied those rumours.
ENGAGED

Prince Narula and Yuvika Chaudhary got engaged and so did Alekh Sangal to Nazneen Dharamsey.

MARRIAGE

Hanuman actor, Danish Akhtar tied the knot on 27th January with his lady love Nadia Shaikh.
Actor Mudit Nayar found love last year in Aparajita Shrivastava, a lawyer by profession and the duo plan to get hitched in February.
CONTROVERSIES

With Colors' Udaan taking a leap and the storyline focusing on Vidhi Pandya aka Imli, the actress has reportedly been throwing tantrums on the sets. The leads of Zee TV' Aisi Deewangi Dekhi Nahi Kahi, Pranav Misshra and Jyoti Sharma - abruptly put in their papers due to their long working hours which in turn took a toll on their health.
Well, that sums up everything including the good and bad, positives and negatives for the past month. And we are hoping that the new month brings in more happy news as compared to the sad ones.
