 IIT Gandhinagar IIT Gandhinagar (IITGn) is one among the new IITs started from the academic year 2008-09. It is located at Chandkheda, about 15 minutes drive from both Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.

 IIT Patna Formally registered as a society on July 25, 2008, IIT Patna's academic programs commenced on August 6, 2008. The institure currently operates from a temporary campus in Pataliputra colony and will later move to a permanent campus on the outskirts of Patna.

 IIT Rajasthan IIT Rajasthan, also referred to as IIT Jodhpur, was established in 2008. The initial academic session of the insitute was held at IIT Kanpur. The institute is currently operating from MBM Engineering College and will have its permanent campus 12 km from Jodhpur city on National Highway 65.

 IIT Mandi IIT Mandi is located at in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh and functions from a transit campus at Mandi town. The permanent campus is under construction at near the Uhl River, about 12 kilometres from Mandi town.

 IIT Indore IIT Indore started its session from the academic year 2009-10. The permanent campus will come up at Simrol, 25 kms from Indore. It is currently functioning from a temporary campus at Institute of Engineering and Technology of Devi Ahilyabai University.
