Papad Pol gets one year extension; Optimystix project shifts from SAB TV to Star Plus...

Tellybuzz earlier reported that SAB TV's Papad Pol - Shahbuddin Rathod ki Rangeen Duniya is under the scanner and might be closing shop. But the latest we hear is that the channel and the production house have decided to extend the show for a year.

The reason behind this, a source informs, "Optimystix was supposed to come up with a new family drama in SAB TV, which is now shifted to Star Plus."

The source says, "The storyline was not suitable for SAB TV as it was turning towards a family drama and was less humorous which was not of SAB TV's flavor. Therefore the production has decided to shift the show from SAB TV to Star Plus and extend Papad Pol for a year."

We contacted Vipul Shah, Head of Optimystix, and he confirms saying, "Yes, Papad Pol has got an extension of one year starting from this May and is in no position to go off air. And talking about few new shows, we are in talks with different channels to pitch our shows, nothing has been finalized yet."

Guess Papad Pol fans have a reason to celebrate…

Sejal Shah and Dilip Darbar to add up spice in SAB TV's Papad Pol - Shahbuddin Rathod ki Rangeen Duniya...

SAB TV's Papad Pol which recently got an extension of a year is apparently gearing up to fetch good ratings to the channel. Therefore the show is welcoming a few new entries to add up spice to the story…

A little birdie from the industry chirps, "Sejal Shah and Dilip Darbar got finalized to essay meaty roles for a few episodes of Papad Pol….Sejal Shah will essay the character of Lata who is a very old friend of Kokila's mother in law, but not on talking terms. In the coming episodes, they encounter each other for a purpose, but still have sour feelings for each other. Dilip Darbar will essay the character of Lata's husband"

"Once Kantaben (Alpana Buch) and Lata (Sejal Shah) encounter each other, Kokila (Ami Trivedi) and Vinay (Swapnil Joshi) will find out a way to get them together again and the story proceeds with this track,"adds source.

Sejal Shah is presently seen in Sahara One's Hi… Padosi Kaun Hai Doshi. and will start her shoot with Dilip Darbar in a couple of days.

We contacted Sejal Shah and she confirmed, "Yes, I will be seen in Papad Pol as Kantaben's friend. We have not yet started shooting, so I have no idea about my track and the character I am essaying."

Let's see if this new track can spice up the show with more ratings...

Sharad Vyas who was earlier seen in Maniben.com will now portray the husband of Sejal Shah in SAB TV's Papad Pol.

TellyBuzz had earlier reported about Sejal Shah and Dilip Darbar making their entry in SAB TV's Papad Pol. But the latest update is that in place of Dilip Darbar, Sharad Vyas (fame Maniben.com) will enter.

A source states, "Dilip Darbar was almost finalized to essay the role opposite to Sejal Shah. But later on he had some date issues as he was also busy with few other projects. He could not make adjustments to be part of this show and later on Sharad Vyas last seen in Maniben.com got finalized to essay his role."

Sharad Vyas will be essaying Vasant Masa, husband of Lata Masi (Sejal Shah) who is a happy go lucky person and will also join hands with Kokila (Ami Trivedi) to bring Kantaben and Lata together again.

We tried hard to reach Sharad Vyas but all our efforts were in vain.

We contacted Sejal Shah and she confirmed, "Yes, It's Sharad who is essaying my husband Vasant. We are still shooting for the show."

SAB TV stars Ami Trivedi and Swapnil Joshi charm audiences in Nagpur


The lead cast of SAB TV's Papad Pol - Shahbuddin Rathod ki Rangeen Duniya visits their fans in Nagpur...

The people of Nagpur were in for a pleasant surprise as the famous telly stars - Swapnil Joshi and Ami Trivedi from SAB TV's popular serial 'Papad Pol - Shahbuddin Rathod ki Rangeen Duniya' visited the city of oranges on Wednesday. This is the first time ever that SAB TV - India's leading comedy entertainment channel decided to bring their stars to Nagpur.

'Papad Pol - Shahbuddin Rathod Ki Rangeen Duniya' is a show based on an imaginary world created by the renowned writer, Shahbuddin Rathod. The show is all about celebrating life with interesting characters like Vinaychand and Kokila. Based in the midst of the adversities and challenges of the modern day life in a bustling city like Ahmedabad, the residents of this Pol (Mohalla) find a reason to celebrate life in all its big and small moments.
