After being embroiled in controversy, and showing off his personality to audiences in a reality show last year, Rahul Mahajan has decided to seek marital bliss a second time around by conducting a televised swayamvar for a bride on NDTV Imagine. Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jaayega kicks off with a call for entries followed by multi-city meetings and interviews with shortlisted participants.

Announcing the launch of Swayamvar – Season 2, Sameer Nair, CEO of NDTV Imagine, said, “It’s back by popular demand. We’re really pleased with the spectacular response to Season 1 of the Swayamvar with Rakhi. What began as idle voyeurism quickly changed into genuine interest and a strong desire for Rakhi to find the right man with whom she could share her life. The show has in many ways become a fulfiller of dreams and we hope to do the same with Rahul, helping him to find his ideal dulhan.”

While announcing his participation, Rahul said, “A lot has happened with me in the last three years. Today is the start of a new chapter of my life. I have decided to choose my life partner on Imagine. I truly appreciated the sensitivity and seriousness with which Imagine handled Rakhi’s Swayamvar, while still maintaining the elements of entertainment for the TV audience. I’m really looking forward to finding my life partner.”

Season two will have a similar format to its predecessor. The prospective brides will be brought together under one roof and will be put through a series of tasks and challenges to uncover facets of their personalities and ascertain their compatibility with Rahul. Along the way, his friends and family will join him and help him in his quest.
