MS Dhoni lifts the IPL trophy and collects Rs 6 crores from Lalit Modi. That's it from all of us here at the commentary desk. It's been a long tournament but we have had a great time covering this.

MS Dhoni: The credit goes to the team, we were under pressure in the middle of the tournament, the support staff gave us what was required, credit goes to the franchise owners for backing us and giving us the confidence. The wicket in Mumbai assists the faster bowlers and we were banking on Bollinger to do the trick. It's all about handling pressure and not many other than Sachin could handle that pressure in crunch situations. They had some good hitters towards the end. This was the season that got us together. It's really good to know Haydos, Bolly and Bailey. The celebrations have been good, we will lose a few players next year considering the auctions. IPL is getting bigger and better. The benchmark keeps on going above. Lot more day games will be played with 2 new teams coming. The pressure is on the office bearers for keeping the standards high.

Sachin Tendulkar:
We could have played better, some catches went down, we could have accelerated a bit more in the initial overs. One of those days that did not go our way, but I would take this opportunity to thank all the Mumbai Indians' supporters. We did not do well in our fielding. The journey was fantastic, some of the youngsters were really fantastic. Towards the end of the tournament, the special effects from Pollard was fantastic. I thank the support staff and the owners for their support. The hard work started after the end of IPL 2, we did well to get the team together and play some nice cricket. Most probably, I will be playing the next year as well. I would like to congratulate CSK for winning the tournament.

Mumbai Indians get Rs 3,00,00,000 for being the runners up.
This is not getting over yet, the umpires are now being asked to collect the mementos.

Sachin Tendulkar
is the DLF Golden Player of IPL 3.

Pragyan Ojha collects the Purple Cap, Pragyan Ojha: It's good that I have won this but it would have been better if our team had qualified for the finals.
Sachin Tendulkar
collects the Orange Cap

Dhoni collects the Kingfisher fairplay award.

S Tiwary
gets the U-23 success of the tournament award.

Breaking news:
As soon as Modi gave his speech, the BCCI has sent a suspension letter via e-mail to Lalit Modi. A 3 member committee will take over the management of the IPL.

Andrew Symonds
gets the 'Karbol Kamaal catches' award for the whole of IPL 3.

RS 11,25,000
has been given to the Indian Cancer society by Karbon mobiles.

Suresh Raina
: Finally, we won it. All credit goes to the support staff and the captain. It's been a great year for us, we have performed really well, and by the grace of god it's been really nice. To sum it up in one word today was 'fantastic'.

The Man of the Match award goes to "Suresh Raina"

The 'maximum sixes award' goes to Suresh Raina

Lalit Modi:
For many years I have lived a dream that India would have a sports league that we would be proud of. We have had some off-field issues that are mainly due to half-truths. If there is any flouting of rules, I take full responsibilities. I assure that IPL is clean and transparent. We should not allow this brand to be diluted. We must help this evolve to be stronger and better. As the proverb goes " The obstacle is our path", we have faced several challenges. I thank all my team members, team members, BCCI officials, sponsors and everyone for their support. All I wanted is to leave a footprint in this glorious game. My final thank you is to all the fans, we missed you last year and it's your passion that keeps us going. Thank you!!
