Desi twist on reality show
Indian channels always want to adapt the concept of reality shows from the west. We just copy the format but twist in Indian settings so that our audiences will get interested in watching these shows. We look at some of the reality shows, which are Indianized.
Bigg Boss This reality show in which a group of contestants, housemates, that is custom built but includes everyday objects, such as a fully equipped kitchen and a garden. The House is also a television studio, and includes cameras and microphones in most of the rooms to record the activity of the housemates. |

Perfect Bride Every boy's dream to have a perfect bride and every mother's dream to have the perfect bahu came alive on STAR Plus. The journey started on September 12th 2009 Monday to Friday at 10.30 pm and Saturday & Sunday at 10 pm, viewers will be privy to a 13-week journey of 10 beautiful girls and 5 eligible boys as they come together in search of India's Perfect Bride, along with the boy's mother for company. In an attempt to impress the boys and their mothers, the 10 eligible girls will put their best foot forward through tasks that will get them closer to winning the coveted title while viewers continue to support them with their votes. Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao This is the Indian version of the popular British reality game show I'm a Celebrity…Get Me out of Here! The show premiered on July 13, 2009 at 10 PM on Sony TV. Ten Indian celebrities have been chosen to participate in the first season. They have been flown to Taman Negara in the rain forests of Malaysia, where they had to stay in the jungle in an outdoor camp with little or no luxury amenities. Every contestant is allowed to carry any two-luxury items of their choice, which they must specify before the contest begins. |
