Default Prime Time: It is a battle between Salman Khan and SRK on the TRP charts

Bigg Boss 11, Kaun Banega Crorepati 9, Porus – 5 TV shows we are impatient to see on prime time

Here is what the prime time line up looks like...

As of now, the best shows on TV are coming in prime time. The slot of 9pm and above has much loved programmes like Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Naamkarann, Ishqbaaz, Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi, Beyhadh and more. In the coming months, we are going to see a spate of new shows. The most exciting ones are in the non-fictional space with Bigg Boss 11, Kaun Banega Crorepati 9 and Ted Talks, that sees Shah Rukh Khan as the host. In the fiction space, it is Porus, Sony TV’s 500-crore extravaganza that has caught the attention of many. Shot in Thailand, it is making a buzz with the classy VFX.

Bigg Boss 11

Salman Khan’s controversial reality show, Bigg Boss 11 is coming on air sooner than expected. It will air from September 24. We guess the show will air post 10.30 pm on weekdays and after 10 pm on weekends. The controversial reality show is one of the favourites with the Indian audience. We have the theme of common man contestants vs celebrities this year as well. Celebrities like Abhishek Malik, Niti Taylor, Sukhwinder Singh and others are expected to be inside the house. There is a theme of Padosi, which is a new one. The superstar has already shot for the promo of the show and fans are eagerly waiting for season 11 to begin.(Also Read: Bigg Boss 11 shocker: Commoners to participate for free on Salman Khan’s show?)

Kaun Banega Crorepati 9
This show is a favourite and will continue to be one. For those who grew up watching quiz shows on TV, Kaun Banega Crorepati 9 is an engrossing watch. And the prize money factor makes it a thrilling prospect. Amitabh Bachchan returns as the host on season nine that will air on Sony TV. This year, we will see the focus on the tagline that knowledge is something that can take a person to greater heights. It is the great leveller. Contestants from all over India have registered and we cannot wait for the show to replace Beyhadh on Sony TV. Porus

We don’t know if it will be a weekend or weekday affair but we are sure that Porus will get a prime time slot on Sony TV. Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s magnum opus is made at a reported budget of Rs 500 crore. It tells the story of Porus and the Battle of Hydaspes, which was fought with the Macedonian ruler, Alexander The Great. Shot in Thailand, it has Laksh Lalwani, Mohit Abrol, Rohit Purohit, Rati Pandey and Suhani Dhanki in lead roles. The teaser and trailer have ignited some curiosity.

Haasil
Zayed Khan makes a debut on Indian Television with this show. It also features Nikita Dutta of Ek Duje Ke Vaaste and Vatsal Sheth. Buzz was that it was going to replace Beyhadh or Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi but the show is still in a very nascent stage. It is produced by Siddharth P Malhotra who is behind Woh Apna Sa and Love Ka Hai Intezaar. It is touted as a romantic thriller between two brothers. It would have been the perfect show to replace Beyhadh but sadly that did not happen. Sony TV also has another romantic – thriller in the pipeline that features Namik Paul, Donal Bisht and Vikram Singh Chauhan.

Ted Talks

Shah Rukh Khan’s Ted Talks is coming in the same time as Bigg Boss 11.

It is a weekend show featuring speakers from varied walks of life. We know the kind of magic SRK created with his speech at Ted Talks in Vancouver.

The above list clearly proves that prime time is going to see some exciting development in the coming months. Which show are you really looking forward to? Do let us know with your comments…
