FLOP 11: Films with lost potential
Billu With two diverse yet extremely popular Khans on his set, Priyadarshan could have created magic. However save for the soul stirring penultimate 20 mins, most of Billu was a poor rehash of Malamaal Weekly and many such Priyan comedies. While Shah Rukh Khan's presentation was exaggerated, Irrfan Khan underplayed it a bit too much – leaving its audience with the insufferable, shouting trio of Om Puri, Asrani and Rajpal Yadav. |

Victory This film had so much going for it yet somehow Victory never managed to make the most of the positives. With a lose script and some rather patchy camerawork Victory was a waste. The screenplay could have been tighter and if the director had simply let the cricketers and the story of a small town boy making it big take centrestage, this one would have surely been a hit in the tier two towns if not the big metros. |

Heroes An underrated multistarrer, Heroes could have really hit bulls eye – but for some amateurish distractions. Strong on emotion, this well-intentioned subject periodically meandered into item songs, over the top action sequences and sub-plots that rob the film of its patriotic flavour. With such a powerful cast and lavish canvas, Heroes failed to have the desired impact. |

Sunday Anand has given up on this film long time ago. But personally Sunday was one film that for a change had an interesting premise that was fairly decently executed. The big problem with this film was its length. It simply went on and on and on and ended with a whimper. Sunday is a classic example of a whodunit that could well be called a why-done-it? |

Halla Bol A relevant plot went haywire due to Rajkumar Sanotshi's 90s style treatment. Despite a couple of knockout dialogues, Halla Bol suffered on account of its dated melodrama and dull packaging. And if Damini's raw intensity was what Santoshi set out to recreate – then unfortunately for him, Ajay Devgan is no Sunny Deol. |
