Calling all students
While the US, UK and Australia remain the biggest draw for Indian students hoping to study abroad, some countries are quietly making a place for themselves as popular destination for foreign students.



Singapore

Singapore is on track to meet its target of hosting 150,000 foreign students here by 2015. According to the Singapore Tourism Board which promotes Singapore as a study destination abroad, the current economic climate has given Singapore an edge over other countries. Singapore offers affordable quality education. Noteworthy is the Singapore Institute of Management's Global Education arm, which charges $ 23,000 fees for its three-year University of London degree courses, which are taught by local as well as British professors.

Greece
Greece is slowly growing as a popular study destination for Indians. The nation offers a plethora of alternative to students when it comes to courses. Some of the offered courses are photography, sculpture, creative writing, art, archeology, philosophy, painting, international business and history. Some of the top universities in Greece are the National and Capodistrian University of Athens, Agricultural University of Athens and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

New Zealand
India is reportedly the largest source of international students in New Zealand. Nearly 9000 student permits have reportedly been issued to Indian students. First-time students accounted for more than half of all international students in New Zealand, the Department of Labour's migration trends and outlook 2009-10 report said. Noteworthy is the National Technology Institute in Auckland.
