Default Kailesh Kher in Star Plus's Tere Liye

Kailesh Kher performed live during the launch of Star Plus and Balaji Telefilms’ epic love saga Tere Liye…

This wasn't mentioned in the press briefing pamphlet. So when the host introduced Kailash Kher to perform live for us during the launch of Star Plus' and Balaji Telefilms' Tere Liye, we journalists were simply elated.

Kailash opened up his act with a very rusty introductory speech, a refreshment from the prompter equipped ones, that we usually get to witness. He said, "It's a great honor to be singing for this wonderful epic love story and I'm sure that as this television show creates for itself a place in the pages of history, my band would earn a small spot too."

We weren't lucky enough to get a hundred percent live performance. For Kailash requested for 'a little backing up.' So the title song was played on the music system first and then Kailash caught up with a bit of lip sync and then a lot of rapturous sopranos. The magical sufi sound left all of us enthralled and a few with goosebumps. In short, it made us drift away to a magical world where love, did seem tangibly eternal!

Kailash ended with a very humble request to the members of the press. "Whatever you guys write or broadcast, just make the people believe that this is something badhiya (great)," and just as he turned to leave, we think we caught him giving a very, very discreet wink.

To promote this show in a unique manner, a love song has been conceived by STAR Plus in partnership with Times Music. The song is an ode to this epic love story and the two protagonists - Taani (Anupriya Kapoor) and Anuraag (Harshad Chopra) sung by Kailash Kher. Times Music has popularized this song on Radio as well as Digital platforms thus offering a great song to the masses.

Tere Liye launches on 14 of June at 10 pm on Star Plus.
