Default Full Details/Photos: David Fincher's career

David Fincher
Nominated in the Best Director category at the 83rd Academy Awards, here are a few films of his career that depict the quintessential Fincher... Movie-making was not entirely an adult's fare in director David Fincher's career. He started to make films at the age of eight, with an 8 mm camera. Instead of going to a film school, Fincher learnt the art of movie-making doing hands-on work. To begin with, he got a job loading cameras. Fincher not only directed many commercials but also several music videos. Fincher is also known to be fond of working again with actors he cast for his earlier films.

Alien 3
Fincher's feature film debut was 'Alien 3'. The film received an Oscar nomination in the Special Effects category. However, it did not do great at the box-office. After this, he went back to directing music videos for sometime.

Fight Club
Brad Pitt once again returned to work with Fincher in 'Fight Club'. The film was a screen adaptation of Chuck Palahniuk's novel of the same title about an insomniac office worker who opens up a club devoted exclusively to bare knuckle fighting for men. Towards the beginning, the critics actually slammed the movie, gradually, the film's popularity picked up, resulting in 'Fight Club' being tagged as a cult film.
